Harry’s really not bright, is he? It’s not like he didn’t have 500+ years of royal history to understand how things work for the heir and the spare(s). 😂

All the power to him if he figures out a way to be genuinely successful as the spare.

He’s figured it out. Trash your family of origin all the way to the bank.

His family of origin is trash anyway so good for him for rising above that and succeeding.

Uh, no, it doesn't, it refers to a clip from the Oprah interview where Meghan says that everyone has a basic right to privacy. It doesn't say anything about any claims the couple made that they were leaving the royal family because they wanted privacy. It's a crucial distinction, particularly because their detractors constantly bring that up as some sort of "gotcha."

Why do you think Meghan mentioned everyone having a “basic right to privacy”? Do you think she was just making a random observation that she didn’t believe had any particular relevance to their situation? Kinda like saying “the sky is blue”?

Uh, it's because she was asked the question by Oprah herself. She also then goes on to say that neither she nor Harry have talked about privacy being a motivating factor in the sense that their critics are portraying it as -- they literally deconstruct this exact argument, but it's constantly used against them to this day.

They can make appearances in media and send out press releases of their own accord. It's their life. There is zero hypocrisy involved, unless you're willing to level the "privacy" critique against literally every single public figure, ever.

No, not every public figure. It’s the ones who choose a public life for themselves and then complain about what that entails.

Interesting that they were “the family Meghan never had” until the Sussexes didn’t get their way.

BRF making a statement without saying a word. Master trolling it is.

She is not Christened yet.

Neither is Eugenie’s son. Publicly announced that the christening was delayed.

Curiouser and curiouser...

Anyone (“haters” or “stans”) have any theories as to what the strategy is here?

I think it's completely fair to speak out when there's a years-long dedicated smear campaign against you.

Whatever it is the Kate derangers are pissed off.

They've even got a petition to remove 'non-working' members of the royal family from the line of succession.

They don't realize that includes everyone on this list except #1-5, Edward and Anne. Bye to Andrew, bye to Zara and her three kids, bye to Peter and his kids, bye to Beatrice, bye to Eugenie and her child, bye to Edward's kids.

No strategy. It takes them eons to update the website.

Well he is a veteran so he did more than the other Royals in his age group. Being in combat twice could definitely fill a book.

I was a helicopter pilot in extensive combat for 17 years. I have nothing to say that hasn’t been said before.
How is Harry’s 20 week deployment in Helmand of interest?

Did he even go to college/university?

No and while he was a good athlete in school he wasn’t known for his scholarly prowess.

That’s one way to put it. His cheating, thick, congenitally dishonest ass was involved in the unfair dismissal of an Eton instructor who objected after being asked to literally write Just Call Me Harry’s paper for him. He’s a real POS. The instructor eventually received a settlement.

Whatever the truth about the book deal, can any of Harry and Meghan’s righteous defenders here (cute life choice, ladies) REALLY say straight-faced that Harry will hold HIMSELF to task for his various acts of indecency, racism and unkindness? You don’t believe it, and neither do I. There is a reason adults disdain permanent-victims like Harry, particularly when they’ve had the luckier hand most times.

Really? That’s awful.

He was passed forward at Eaton each year. He never had the grades to finish any year

William is not a great intellect but he did the work and tried at Eton

Harry had no success until he entered Sandringham. With a different circumstance of north, Harry would have been apprenticed at age 16 before he had to face the O and A levels.

He went to war for his country. We are grateful for his service.

Harry went to war for the United States as part of the Coalition of the Willing in the ill advised Middle Eastern wars. Like many Tommies before him, including the one who wrote this parody of the Kipling poem "The Young British Soldier," Harry participated in a war that the Brits, at least knew was unwinnable. "When you're lying alone in your Afghan bivy; And your life it depends on some MOD civvie; When the body armours shared; One set between three; And the firefights not like its is on TV; Then you'll look to your oppo, your gun and your God, As you follow that path all Tommies trod."

Well she gave them a chance and then bailed when they showed their true colors. Good for her. This is the 21st century. No one has to be a martyr like Kate and suffer in silence forever.
