It should be K-3, seeing that 3rd graders never even finished 2nd grade last year.. this is such a mess, all of elementary should really be back. |
SB agenda just posted. Pre-K to return four days per week in May. |
Hi. I'm an APS teacher who found DCUM from AEM. I never comment anywhere, but when you're anon, you can be anyone, right?
APE's worst members are my nightmare and keep me up at night. They first blamed me for school facilities not being open. For me somehow being lazy when I've been working 60+ hour weeks. And now, that school aren't five days a week on a normal bell schedule, I'm somehow to blame too. I'm an easy target, because I'm the one in APS they interact with most. But I want to say something to the Smart Restart group too. You don't represent me either. I'm vaccinated, and happy to be back in my classroom and to see everyone again. I care for your children and want all of them to succeed. I'm a better teacher in person. I worry about my virtual kids though, especially the ones that are not engaged. I know some of my colleagues don't feel the same way about returning to facilities, but the way you ram your message down AEM's collective throats turns many of the people in my school off too. I'm sorry I saw that Twitter page. I'll try to forget it now. That person, whoever it is, speaks for nobody at all. What an embarrassment. All I can say to both parent groups and everyone in the middle is to please dial it back. You're making me and many of my colleagues miserable. All of you. |
I'm in APE and all I can say is I don't blame you personally for what has happened. I don't know you. I blame APS leadership for lack of vision. There are some extreme members in APE, in AEM and in SR who post crazy stuff. We try to moderate. Sometimes we do better than others. Meanwhile, thank you for your work with the kids. |
She did not. Or if she did she deleted it. I went back and read through every single post on that dumb thread. |
Yup, also interesting on slide 15 Capacity and Space Planning one of the items is "In response to CDC's revised distancing guidelines for classrooms, APS will... Determine a prescribed student square footage based on 3' distancing guidelines." That guidance came out March 19. It's been a month and they are still just thinking about defining what it means. https://go.boarddocs.com/vsba/arlington/Board.nsf/files/C2BNC85D8E7E/$file/D-1%20SY%202020-21%20Update%20PResentation%204-22-21.pdf |
Not really “obvious” but don’t let facts get in your way. |
Dare you to FOIA that info. ![]() |
This makes no sense. He was obviously fine sharing it under his own name on AEM so why would he put it under an anon account? Whoever the twitter person is wants to be anonymous. |
What an idiot - seriously?? This person should be embarrassed of themselves. |
No it was explained in the thread here. Sorry I wasn't clear. I just went into AEM and did a quick search for her name, his name & recall and found it. Cutting and pasting here for you. BE: thanks for your questions. APE has on several occasions noted that there is no "APE lawsuit," and I've posted in this forum about it as well. As a candidate for School Board, I support measures which would return APS to in-person instruction for more days this school year, for those families and children who need/want it. I don't support measures that don't advance that cause, and you may count in that category the lawsuit and the recall. Finally, as several have already noted, neither the lawsuit or the recall are backed by APE (nor the Republican party to my knowledge, though I'm a Democrat). |
I just looked at the APEs**t account myself, and the original screensshotter was right. It's just a SR troll who gets off on getting screenshots from APE, Miranda's campaign twitter, and other safe schools people in FCPS and making snarky posts about them. If it's an inside job, that's a good way of getting fired. I don't think it is though. Lots of backpeddling and lies. I looked at the followers. I don't belong to APE's or SR's group and just know what I've seen on AEM and news reports, but even to me, there does appear to be many familiar SR "faces". |
+1 |
DP, not a teacher, but could you please try harder? I know my kids' teachers are working incredibly hard to educate my kids, and every time I hear someone from APE announce that schools are closed, I want to scream. School is happening. Not 5-day in-person instruction, but kids are getting educated. (I am very happy to think about how hard you'll all be working from now on to ensure that kids at lower SES schools get all the advantages your kids get, and your commitment to making sure that APS prioritizes students' mental health in the years to come. So thank you for that.) |
I’m another APS employee who agrees that SR does not speak for me. I don’t go to AEM anymore. It seems like most of the really obsessive teachers have left the APS educators group and are maybe in SR or another group now. |
