Northeastern gets top tier students. https://www.businessinsider.com/the-50-smartest-colleges-in-america-2016-10 |
Colby is also in the top 50. What's Rhodes?? Never heard of it. PP is weird. |
Rhodes is Amy Coney Barret's alma mater, so you can judge from that... |
Over 50% acceptance rate. I'll judge ftom that. |
Oh here we go again. A few years back they accepted a mediocre student with a 1320 SAT from my kid’s school with no sport, music, or other long-term discernible talent. I wouldn’t call this student top-tier. She’s also had a very hard time finding her people. |
I don't really care for acceptance rates. Just a status symbol for how few you're willing to educate and how much you can game USNews. |
The link is for a few years back in 2018 when tests were required. Random stories don't mean much. |
| Northeastern. Average at best and way too much $$$. |
It's actually on the cheaper side with Average Annual Cost = $28,521 https://collegescorecard.ed.gov/school/?167358-Northeastern-University For example compared to some of the peer schools Tufts = $35,123 BC = $39,090 NYU = $32,462 Dumb people are clueless. |
You sound ignorant. Acceptance rate doesn't affect USNews ranking. However I care. 50% acceptance rate means 1 out of 2 can easily walk in. That affects quality of the student body a lot. I want my smart kid surrounded by other smart kids. It's very important. It determines the level of classes and students learn from other students a lot. |
Not impressed with a school that has mastered gaming the rankings. |
Nobody cares about you. The schools gets 100K apps from top tier students |
I know what an acceptance rate is. I think your smart child can find smart people at many more places than you consider however. I went to a top college, and boy, for being the "smartest" people in the collegiate space, there sure were a bunch of dummies around. Your kid ultimately will decide who they hang out with. |
It's not just about choong who to hang out. You don't choose who are in the classes. Of course top schools have some dummies and lower tier schools have some smart kids, but you are likely to be surrounded by more smart kids at top schools. I would stay away from a school one every other kid can walk in. |
If your kid goes there she will be on the Supreme Court someday? Must be a great school! |
