The girlfriend was outed ages ago on Websleuths by people who worked with her, but since she was not publicly named, they removed all of the posts. Almost immediately after, her entire internet presence was completely scrubbed. Her co-workers who posted said she knew that he was married, and that she followed Shannan on Instragram before her account was deleted. Seems fishy to say she thought he was almost divorced. But even if she did know, it makes her a crappy person to cheat, but that doesn't mean she had any knowledge of what he planned to do, or was involved in any way. That's all on him. She sure is pretty though.

Yes it was all over the internet. Texts from co-workers talking about them having the affair. She knew he wasn't separated, and admitted when she found out she still saw him until they turned up missing. Never said she had knowledge of what he was planning to do. Just a crappy person that shares some blame in the outcome. According to the prosecutor he was doing Jewelry searches, vacation getaways etc. He was hoping for a new start with her. Would he have killed them had he not have met her? Who knows, but she was part of that domino effect. Sadly, she'll have to live with that.

She does not share the blame! What is wrong with you?

I think he pleaded, so no trial.

Yep, he pleaded guilty to avoid the death penalty. The wife's family agreed to those terms. I'm sure his lawyer explained that with all the evidence, there was absolutely no way a jury would find him innocent.

This story will definitely stay with me for a while. So sad.

Yes I know. I was explaining to the first PP that there was no trial so her saying "why can't some of the other trials be this short" made no sense in this case.

A big coward why he pleaded and didn't speak in court.

Did you see his leg shaking?

These aholes can't stand being told they did something wrong.

Reminds me of my ex MIL who defended her son after she had learned that he verbally assaulted my mother at my son's school. He was screaming in front of the children and parents that she is a moron and an idiot and he was going to get her deported. Some mothers just don't ever want to face that they gave birth and raised monsters. I'm not saying it's their fault they turned out that way, but in my case, MIL was definitely an enabler.

The interview with Cindy Watts

Hence how a sociopath is made.

Wtf with the big cheery "hello" pillow in the background. What kind of interview did they think this was going to be? Talk about tone deaf.

Please remember that his parents did not do this. They clearly love their son and he appears to be lying to them just like he lied to his wife. That's what psychopaths/sociopaths do.

His parents didn't care much for Shannan apparently so it is easier for them to believe that she killed the kids herself and their son killed Shannan in response. To the rest of us, that story makes pretty much ZERO sense but his parents are going to hold out hope that their son did not do this nightmarish thing to his family.

The truth will come out for them I'm sure and it is going to be absolutely devastating to them that the child that they raised could have done something so monstrously evil. I don't blame them for not accepting such a horror right away - those poor people can't begin to wrap their mind around this.

Yes but don't maligned the victim in a interview, didn't come across very well at all. I was interested in the Scott Peterson case, read the books, excerpts from the trial etc. A sociopath turned psychopath. Watts mother provided a interesting glimpse of the environment he came from.

If they think that Shannan killed their grandchildren (and that is what their son has told the happened) then they are not going to say nice things about her. In fact, it's pretty clear that they really did not like her and prefer to believe that she instigated this whole thing rather than accept that their son killed his entire family.

They are in deep denial because the truth is unbearable.

She certainly is not to blame for these murders but she did insert herself into the marriage of a married man. That was sort of a lowlife thing of her to do and now she's been caught up in a nightmare whether she wants to be or not.

If he did this to Shannan and his own children he could have easily and remorselessly done it to her, too. She also gets to live with the fact that being with her was at least part of his motive for killing three innocent human beings.

There was stuff all over, probably why I can't find the co-workers texts. No she didn't have knowledge of his plan.

It's never about looks, he wasn't raising kids with her nor paying bills. He was hearing what he wanted to hear trying to escape reality. They could have easily sold their home, get out of debt and gone to marriage counseling. Or divorce and get joint custody. He had many options - makes zero sense.

Thank you. That's exactly what I was saying. Many others seem to feel the same way.

If she would have admitted in the interview to knowing, being sorry for her poor judgement there would be a different reaction imo.

And actually, he killed 4 innocent human beings because Shannan was pregnant with their unborn son. So heartbreaking.

Recently texts came out from Shan' ann to a friend. She commented about his recent behavior change which correlated with his cheating. She told her friend it was all "out of left field". Never anything like that in their relationship she told her friend.

More and more seems his plan was only made weeks before.

She would not admit to her friend that she had suspicions that her marriage was dead. He went on a 5 week vacation with little kids in the house. Something wasn't right.

These texts are interesting. He was being a total moron and apparently Kessinger could Google. Police found Nichol spent hours Googling Shanann among others things. She purposely erased all the texts that police had to recover.

A lot of damning searches from the mistress indicated she very well knew he was married.. And looking up other mistresses who dated killers and how much money they made off books.. Not exactly the innocent bambi she is trying to portray herself as.

"Kessinger also looked up “Man I’m having affair with says he will leave his wife” in late July, according to People. “Kessinger’s internet searches about Frey on Aug. 19 — four days after Watts was arrested — also included queries about a book deal Frey obtained, along with Frey’s net worth, the documents show,”

The girlfriend was horrible the more I see. There's a ton of stuff on Youtube including his confession to his dad. A lot of weird stuff he was staying while being interrogated. He told the interviewer there was no way he would cheat on his wife. If one of his friends were out of town he would be the trusted guy to be with their wife. LOL This was before they found out about Nichol.

Go on Youtube, put his name or Shanann in the search. Nichol has been thoroughly discredited, bet she regrets that silly interview.
