Those that are reactive don't want to see things that don't fit their 'everything is racism' views. A critical thinker is willing to look at ALL the information and keep an open mind regarding more. A lot of folk are wondering why the school hasn't spoken out. That's something to really consider. |
Because the father is an activist and they used CAIR to push their agenda. F*cked up, isn't it? |
Can you document the father's "activism"? You continually bring this up as if he is the leader of ISIS or something. The world is full of "activists" and you use that as if it is a bad word. Please explain exactly what you mean with supporting evidence. |
I totally agree. It's curious to me that many who are so vocally supportive of Ahmed become extremely defensive when inconsistencies are raised. |
The Florida minister/Koran burning, for one. You can find more online |
What does that mean? Are you saying that the father burned a Koran? That makes no sense. You are making allegations about the father. Please support them. |
WaPo discussed the father. Do a search. I have work to do. |
^^ PP wants us all to understand and accept that the kid's father is some kind of evil subversive man but then runs away the minute someone asks a question....

Very typical of that poster. She constantly makes vague allegations and then tells you to do your own research. But, I probably sound defensive according to some of the above posters. |
I am not home. You know damn well this guy did not burn a Kiran. Stop being, well, you. I said he was a strong activist re: the FL minister who burned the Koran. In addition, he's running for office in Sudan. That's part of it. The WaPo discussed this. You are not that ill-informed. |
It is intellectually lazy to insinuate what you cannot accurately convey yourself. More often than not, it is a sign that the speaker is not really in control of their facts, that they vaguely recall something. |
When I read about Ahmed's father I found out:
He was a Sudanese immigrant who had a degree from Cairo University, but since it was not worth anything here he sold hot dogs while he went to community college. #Bootstraps Then he became a cabbie. He was so successful that he created a company that he later sold to yellow cab. #FreeEnterprise Raised his son to become a smart, somewhat nerdy 14 year old with a promising academic trajectory. #BenCarsonStory Then he made the mistake of defending the Koran against Koran-Burner Terry Jones in 2011. #HowDareHe #BurningisFreeSpeech #ConspiracyConfirmed Became a candidate for President in Sudan #Traitor #CantLove2Countries #UnlessIsrael |
Ahmed's father strikes me as a naive opportunist. The idea that he was the mastermind behind some elobarate scheme to catapult the family to fame and fortune by sending his son to school with the not bomb clock is absurd and borders on delusional. The man is a hardworking immigrant who started his path to the American dream by selling hotdogs on the streets of NYC. Given that he had the inclination to run for President of Sudan while living in Texas and got mixed up in the Terry Jones mess because he was looking for a way to take his family to Disney World, it's not all that surprising that he might try and find a way to leverage circumstances which arose due to the mishandling of the situation by local authorities in Irving. Shameless self-promotion is the Ametican Way. Just ask the Donald about his $10,000,000,000. |
Thanks for the recap! I honestly don't understand the attitudes of some on here regarding his "activism." This is DC! The whole point of this city is that most of us care about politics. I can just imagine the reaction of some of these folks if their own precious snowflakes were detained for, say, wearing a t-shirt for a Christian rock band. "Oh, no, you can't complain about how your kid was treated. You work for a GOP congressman, so clearly you are a naive opportunist with an agenda." |
