I'm a former public defender--The good news here--the victim's character CANNOT be introduced unless the prosecution "opens the door" and introduces it. The defendant's (Z's) character is absolutely open season in court if he tries to use self-defense, which it seems he will. The is still going to be a difficult case for the prosecution unfortunately. They have PROVE beyond a reasonable doubt that Z shot with the intent or likelihood to kill with out adequate provocation with no witnesses. It is not enough to show that certain scenarios were more "likely than not to have occurred" , as many have posited here. It is a very sad thing for the boy's family, but the case may be unprovable. |

I don't see anything emotionally negative about the second picture. It looks like cellphone picture of a teenage boy. It doesn't show him snorting drugs. You really need to get a grip. |

I don't know but still don't see the relevance.
Is it okay to shoot and kill a CHILD if he has gold teeth? If he is suspended from school? If he is wearing a hoodie? Or are those reasonable justifications only if the child is black? |

| well, unfortunately, I'm guessing 90% of the robberies in that neighborhood were committed by black teens wearing hoodies. that is the unfortunate reality. so while it means nothing with respect to guilt or innocence, it was not totally unreasonable for Z to think the victim was up to no good. Right? |

19:15 - I understand your point. HOWEVER, guilty until proven innocent. This applies to the victim too! Zimmerman had no right to be judge and jury as he thinks he is. So many of us have seen sick, hateful people like Zimmerman and really want to see justice.

| There is an appropriate level of neighborhood watch and appropriate level of knowing when to MYOB. Zimmerman never in a million years foresaw consequences to his actions. Not thinking of consequences, or not thinking that there would be any, is such inappropriate behavior in itself. |
