Notre Dame has no complaint this year as the former ND athletic director had substantial input of the current CFP teams selection process.

Yes, Notre Dame and BYU would have made for a stronger CFP field than did Tulane & JMU, but the exposure for the non-Power 4 Conferences was important and admirable I purpose.

Expanding the CFP field to 16 teams with no teams getting byes is an approach to consider in the immediate future.

Both U Miami & Texas A&M deserved their CFP playoff invitations over Notre Dame as each team beat Notre Dame in head-to-head confrontations and all had similar regular season records. Also, due to Notre Dame football's weak to modest strength of schedule, Notre Dame deserved nothing and Notre Dame football failed to earn an offer to compete in the CFP.

Notre Dame football is synonymous with greed & arrogance. Well, greed, arrogance, and unaffiliated independence is, at best, an expensive luxury.

Dude, you have got to get over this.

No, absolutely not.

Notre Dame football complained about U Miami & U Alabama getting in the CFP over ND football, yet both Alabama & Miami proved that they both were solid selections as both teams advanced over very tough opponents ( Oklahoma & Texas A&M).

Had either Miami or Alabama performed poorly, the ND football fanatics would be crying & pouting even louder than before.

This is the time to reflect on the selection of U Miami & U Alabama over Notre Dame by the CFP because we now have proof based on head-to-head competition that both teams were great choices to be in the CFP. If neither U Miami nor U Alabama deserved to be in the CFP, then neither did U Oklahoma nor Texas A&M deserve to be in the CFP.

Had U Miami and/or U Alabama performed poorly in the first round of the CFP, then Notre Dame football may have had a point that the CFP committee eliminated the wrong team among ND, A&M, and Miami; but Miami & Alabama performed well and won against formidable opponents.

Rent free bro...time to move on.

If ND apologists would stop whining no one would have to keep thinking about that shameful program full of quitters.

No dog in this race, but ND really did their reputation a disservice and this has been a PR debacle for them. The results yesterday just furthered this.

How, exactly? ND lost very close games to both Miami and Texas A&M. And Miami and Texas A&M played each other in an equally close game. All the game showed was that all three teams are very evenly matched.

As for Alabama and OU, well, Alabama laid an egg the first half, and OU fell apart. Maybe OU didn't belong in the CFP and ND did.

ND never argued that any of these schools didn't belong.

Notre Dame football is an embarrassment to D-1 football.

Shameful whiners.

Disgraceful.

I wrote the above and, FWIW, I am a Catholic and and a fan of Notre Dame football. However, I am ashamed to admit this as ND football is a bunch of crying babies. Grow up and act with some degree of dignity.

Yes, my statement is, and was, correct.

In the 1960s, Notre Dame football was the only college football broadcast nationwide (NBS). It was a one hour condensed version of each game (no huddles & no halftime). I grew up in a very Catholic region of the country & attended Catholic church. Always loved Notre Dame football. Our high school linebacker went on to become the starting middle linebacker for Notre Dame football.

I have visited ND's campus more than once & stayed in the Morris Inn on campus.

However, the recent whining, pouting, and cowardice of Notre Dame football is an embarrassment to the university, the football team, ND fans, and college football fans nationwide. Notre Dame football exhibits greed, a condescending nature, cowardice, and an attitude of superiority that magnifies its weak schedule.

MSNOW's Morning Joe & other athletic commentator guests ripped Notre Dame for its childish behavior, weak schedule, and lack of conference membership this morning.

The attitude of the ND AD suggests that the CFP should be an annual qualification event entitling the winner of the CFP to play against Notre Dame for the National Championship in college football. And the CFP trophy should be named the Notre Dame Trophy.

Any game official who calls a penalty against a Notre Dame football player should be required to go to confession and undergo retraining.

We all know and understand that Notre Dame football is superior to other teams. We just need to agree on how to properly display our reverence for Notre Dame football each season.

This one will hit the "Nobody will schedule ND unless they join a conference" crowd hard.

I know. It’s tough when your kid is rejected. Don’t worry—there are lots of great Catholic universities.

ND is replacing USC with BYU, and you think that establishes something favorable to ND?

The delusion truly knows no bounds.
