So what happens when the Federal government can’t issue Nov Food Stamps?

Once SNAP ceases every vote on the CR that Democrats scuttle will be an overt act to hurt underprivileged, hungry children.

It's amazing how we are supposed to think the real problem with America is that we should all be happy with that baked potato, and not the billionaires buying a bigger private jet, that villa in the south of France, and yet another yacht to make it more convenient when they want to jet off to Greece or wherever - and that they are doing it on our backs. Again, most of America's poor are in fact working.

It's sick that we are the richest nation on the planet yet we don't have universal healthcare like other wealthy nations, and that we still have people eating poorly and that we still have homeless veterans.

1). Fresh food doesn’t last as long as processed foods. A fruit bowl on the table would be great, but when that fruit goes bad before you can eat it, or sometimes you end up with fruit that just isn’t tasty to start (I had a hell of a time getting good peaches this summer) you turn to buying the cheap bag of family-size Cheetos that will last forever.

2). A parent with a very limited income often turns to food as treats for their kids. They can’t afford to buy them a new bike, they can’t afford the amusement park, but the half gallon of ice cream on sale they can do. Or they can manage a trip to McDonalds to celebrate a birthday.

There’s just so many factors that go into food choices.

So slice and freeze what you don’t use of the fruit and repurpose for something else. Or cook/bake something using the fruit. Homemade applesauce is pretty easy for example.

Limited freezer space. Why do you insist on acting like you have all the answers and people actually living this day to day just are too dumb to figure it out?

If freezer space is limited, then they must have food so what’s the problem?

Or they have a very small freezer. Or no freezer!

Jeez you are clueless

Remember. The GOP can pass the CR whenever it wants.

And since Trump ignores congressional appropriations why bother passing any bill?

I was unaware there were 60 Republican senators.

There are more than 50. The GOP can end the filibuster. It’s already neutered the House and the Constitution.

When have there been any votes in the past three weeks? Johnson just postponed things for another week.

What will happen if 40+ million people don’t get food stamps about 10 days from now? Total monthly benefits are just under $8 billlion.
Looks like we are going to find out.

Or - - - Democrats could vote to not deprive hungry underprivileged Americans.

Democrats keep voting for a shutdown. That is a fact.

This is Trump using starvation as a political tool, taking $6/day from disadvantaged Americans to give $167 per day to 200,000 rich people.

We all know this.

Poor people see this.

+1 Trump is purposely blocking billions of dollars of funds that could be used to pay out the benefits. This is not on Democrats.

Why should the Democratic Party vote to throw millions of Americans of off health care insurance?

This is the GOP’s show. Time to govern and make the hard choices.

+1 Dems shouldn’t give their votes for bills that hurt Americans. If Rs want this CR so badly, they can sidestep the filibuster again like they have multiple times this year.
