Sorry, hidden-motive “28 parent”: It’s only September 15 and Cap has 4 commits to T25 schools — two to UVA, coveted by many VA-based players — while others weigh options. Two ivies to boot. Even if recruiting stopped right now (it won’t) DMVers will want to be part of that pipeline.

Agree. Some kids do prefer D3 and they are choosing the school. Not just the lax team. the point about recruiting being slow. It is much slower than last year. yes the immediate commits are to Ivies. Those are always going to be first. If you have a kid who is not ivy league bound it will be very important to watch when the commits happen and where they go.

They don’t “offer later,” with few exceptions they take kids that didn’t get the D1 offer they wanted. Almost no one chooses Middlebury over Yale, they end up there after Yale passes.

Yeah, hence the “few exceptions” part, but most kids want to go D1. Do you not agree? Sure, some are legacy kids who are going to Tufts regardless, but that is an exception.

And some of them don't want the "full-time job" commitment of D1. It is definitely a grind. I think as they get older and start to understand more about college they hear about study abroad or other opportunities that they can't pursue if they are D1.
