Yeah, hence the “few exceptions” part, but most kids want to go D1. Do you not agree? Sure, some are legacy kids who are going to Tufts regardless, but that is an exception.

A lot of them start out wanting to go D1 but when they don't get the school they want if they truly want to plan in college they reevaluate and start looking D3.

D3 is attractive if you want to go pre-med, engineering, lawyer etc. Most D1 players can’t pursue those majors due to time constraints. A lot of business and communication majors.

Middlebury can honestly beat well over 25% - maybe more of D1 schools

The 75th percentile team was Detroit Mercy last year. Middlebury would obliterate Detroit Mercy.

Wow. Congrats to all the players who have committed so far and more yet to come. Maybe my high school sucked at sports or whatever, but every committed athlete there was an absolute legend in my mind, and I feel the same about these players as I see the announcements here and on Instagram. Well done girls.

From things I have been reading in some recruiting groups, the girls who seem to be having the most difficulty are not from highly ranked clubs. With that in mind, capital will still be fine for the foreseeable future. The 27s and 28s may not have the quite the success of cap teams in the past, but if the teams continue to remain in the top 25, the majority of girls will continue to commit to D1 programs. The other thing they have in their favor is that many of their girls do not need scholarship money. So if they are strong academically and not costing the university money, they are even more of an attractive candidate. I wouldn’t rely solely on my club to do the work regardless of who my daughter played for, so if your daughter is willing to put in the work and plays for capital blue, I am sure she will find a spot.

As a 2028 parent watching the returns come in here, I can’t imagine how blessed I would feel seeing my daughter commit to playing lacrosse at her dream school. Still, having someone think or say that I have a “lovely family” would be better.
