However, a Harris / Pritzer or Harris/ Cooper ticket is more likely.

Harris/Whitmer not happening.

Whitmer is smart. It will be much easier for her to be elected after another 4 years of Trump. After being beaten by Trump, Harris will fade into oblivion like all the other ineffective vice president.

If Trump wins, there may not be another election. Dems and women are fired up for Kamala.

I'm a woman and I even I say no to that.

On Morning Joe they said that they were also asking Whitmer and Tim Walz, the governor of Minnesota, for vetting materials.

Whitmer took herself out of running, Walz does not expand the map

I agree, just saying what was reported.

Plus she has too much baggage from her association with Biden. I wish another candidate would step up that we can get behind. I really don't like that the first woman president may potentially get there by default. Ugh

Come on. Do you seriously not think she’s smart? You don’t have to like her but attacking her intelligence is silly.

She may be smart. But she has been the butt of so many poor performances on the world stage. Everyone voting for Biden knew she would have to become president eventually as no way he could finish a full 4 years. She is not liked and he even thought of replacing her o the ticket in late 2023 as she was a drag on his numbers.

Surely there is someone else? However yo will see every democrat praise how amazing she is in the surface to help her election, but these were the same democrats who said she would have no chance at beating trump and that is why until recently, Biden was staying in. He saw poll numbers that showed Harris doing poorly.

But sure, let’s trust all the Dems saying how amazing she is. Same ones up until 4 weeks ago were saying Biden is mentally fit, energetic, in his way to beating Trump. How did that work out?.

I didn't care for her in '19 and '20, but there were so many good candidates and I was with another. She's grown tremendously. Her remarks to the campaign staff were awesome. She has not put a foot wrong since this was announced.

He will not be chosen for some of those exact reasons:

- working against him is the fact he’s a white, straight, male.

Why do you keep posting this nonsense. Is this the new GOP talking point, Dems don't like white straight men? Not a winner guys. Try again.

If you think there isn't any WSM or SWSM discrimination coming from the left Dems you are blind. My son is a SWSM and I can tell you that in searching for internships/jobs over the last years it has been clear. I've told him that he has to work twice as hard to overcome being a SWM.

There are Dems that want to keep pushing their agenda...the DEI quota and all that. That's how far left the Dems have gone. Now, I do support DEI...but balanced DEI. Just like Affirmative Action...DEI is not perfect and has to be kept in check.

Wow I wonder what that's like. 😢

I'm just saying it should be more than about just checking a DEI box. It should be about qualifications to be VP. If a company has a group of interns and NONE of them are a SWM how can that support DEI?

Has a strong VP pick

Drives home the truth about Project 2025.

I feel like i'm in the minority about this. I don't want to hear about Trump and Project 2025. Everyone who cares about that is already voting for her. Let's have some positivity. Something to get excited about.

Agree but she has no choice but to focus her campaign on “anything but trump” because the Biden/Harris policies are not gonna do it.

And the thing is—Trump has been President before and the world didn’t burn (apart from Covid pandemic completely shifting the booming economy and momentum he had leading into the 2020 election cycle), so I’m
not sure you can scare up the “it’ll be the end of democracy” boogeyman fearmongering argument twice.

WTH? Did you miss January 6th? What was that?

I'm not a Trump supporter, but Jan 6 is over, people were prosecuted. Let it go. Also, we need to stop focusing on Project 2025. If you think you are going to get votes away from Trump by bringing up Project 2025, you are wrong. Also...it can't be all about abortion rights and women's reproductive health.

Please talk about:

- Education (reducing cost of college education - although honestly there are so many community colleges around the country that cost a fraction of 4-yr universities...so really it's a choice parents/kids are making - if you have to get $$$ college loans then go to community college for 2 yrs and transfer. I would, however, support free tuition for those entering trades -- welding, plumbing, etc. Teachers really do need to have more incentives...priority to low-cost housing such as the ones being built in Tysons and of course, raises.
- Transportation
- Foreign Policy/Defense - accountability and transparency, but we need to stay a leading power so no talk about complete dismantling unless you want to risk another 9/11; also we can't just abandon our allies but should really do our due diligence and not be afraid to scrutinize them
- Healthcare Reform - there has to be a sweet spot between what we have now and free universal health care because we cannot afford universal health care - I'd rather my tax money go to education which has been the neglected child for too long
- Immigration Reform - legal immigration pathways, yes....open borders, no
- Economy - I'm fine with paying slightly more in taxes if I know where my taxes are going to be spent and that they are spent wisely. More accountability and transparency.

In regard to above areas, I want policies/stances that are "common sense" based, feasible and viable.

PP here...forgot another important topic...

- Gun Control Laws - everyone wanting to purchase a gun should undergo a mental health evaluation by a qualified psychologist.

...and I'll add in re Healthcare Reform...there needs to be more done about mental health. Your brain is an organ and it's been neglected. Why can't we all have required annual mental health evaluations for students entering school - just like the required annual physicals/vaccines, etc. The stigma of mental health has yet to be overcome.

It seems all the good candidates for VP will outshine the presidential nominee.

+1 And she didn’t put a foot wrong since Biden’s debate performance either, for three weeks of angst and turmoil and leaks out the wazoo which must have been very difficult.

Why was Kamala kept quiet for 3 plus years?
