1. Gonzaga
2. DeMatha
3. Good Counsel
4. PVI
5. SJC.

Gonzaga with their Tufts style offense is too much for the rest of the WCAC.
DeMatha returns everything
Good Counsel will bring in a few transfers
PVI returns everything
SJC is overrated and the coach is average.

SJC or Gonzaga will be in the championship game in May. You can set your watch to that.

DeMatha has a brand new head coach and staff.

Will be interesting to follow what they can assemble in the first year.

I expect to see the cadets and the eagles in the ship once again.

Exactly. I’m not saying they’re not as great as people think they are. Just responding to statements that Landon and SJC have the best 27s. What club are they coming from? I would expect that club to have been pretty dominant this summer. I haven’t seen it.

Next Level 27 currently ranked #8. Landon and SJC both have 5-6 boys from this club team.

Well, NL 27 doesn't have a local FOGO so that could be a problem.....

Big win against 91 Machine at the end of the summer season.

NL at the high school ranks is no longer a local Club team. Dave has copied Cabbells
Playbook.

Kids from all over the eastern seaboard are on the roster.

Good to see them get the opportunity.

It was their only good win of the season. That NL 27 team is certainly top 30, but the #8 ranking is a little high.

Hard to win against the regional and national teams while losing 70% of the fo’s in running clock and no shot clock games.

Maybe TIC, but I think their fogo is pretty good actually.

But back to the topic at hand, SJC has 10+ kids from the 27 Next Level and 27 Madlax teams. Like it or not, those two are the premier 27 programs in the DMV, and no one else is even close.

So SJC clearly has the advantage with the shear quantity of high level younger players, but only time will tell how they develop and if any of them become superstars.

I tend to agree with you on the last part. Time will tell how far these younger players will develop and if they can remain healthy. (i.e. look at Dunkel this past year who was out for the entire season with a shoulder injury) He will likely now have to red-shirt at UVA this Fall too.

St. John’s overtrains and uses their players. Dozens of surgeries in the St. John’s boys lacrosse program. Parents- stay away. Mandatory year around training followed by countless injuries.

Very solid point above. Something is definitely going on and unique to St John’s with their lax players and training. They’ve had more labrum surgeries over the last 3 years then all of the other WCAC schools combined!

It’s true.

Too much year round lacrosse.
