After all the drama, Big3 college admissions are really as strong as ever this year

Many kids in the top 3 schools are in Therapy! It's not the end the best place for all. Every single one of my daughter's friends have a therapist. They are stressed. If you have a kid one of these schools you know this is true. If not, I'd like you to tell me more....

Both of my children attend a Big 3 school and they’re not in therapy, nor do they need therapy. They both chose to attend their current high school.

Do you honestly believe that many/most children at highly selective DC private schools are in therapy?!? If so, you need a wider circle of friends and acquaintances.

Np here. My girl goes to Holton and at least one-third of the girls go to weekly therapy. It is a stressful environment academically and socially

How did you come up with this number? How are you in a position to know that 1/3 of Holton students attend therapy?
One-third of what? The entire school, her grade, her friend group?

There’s no way that your daughter knows what 1/3 of the Holton student body is doing outside of school.

STA has 14 kids going to ivy’s and half of them are Athletic recruits and the other half very strong academics and legacy.
A good amount going to uva, Georgetown, BC and U Chicago.
The rest of the kids going all over places
Majority to top 30 schools.

Fixed to be more accurate.

You might need to be the one that goes to therapy! I have a a several kids in the "big 3" and none are going to therapy. You said, "Every single one of my daughter's friends have a therapist"? Curious, were does your daughter attend HS and is she in therapy?

I think people are focused on the stigma of the word therapy. Many kids use therapy not because they have problems but because therapy gives them tools on how to better manage organize and thrive in a high pressure environment. I find it to actually be a privledge vs punishment. Therapy isn’t just for broken people. It helps prepare kids to healthily manage their stresses and not self medicate

I am a therapist in private practice. The majority of my clients are kids at the DC Top 3 schools. (anxiety, eating disorders, and depression)

This. It is not necessarily a bad thing as someone above pointed out but many of these kids are very stressed out

This continues on in pressure cooker elite colleges. Seems like half the students in DCs hypsm do irm are medicated and meeting with therapists.

The meds help them do well....duh. Therapist, tutor, meds, and personal coaches. All in the same lane, and helpful if you are striving. .
