Have some decency, unlike their mom.

Absolutely THIS!! Leave her poor kids out of this entirely.

Those poor kids lives have already been irreparably damaged by the actions of their criminally evil mom.

I wish them only peace and recovery.

I know what school the girls go to but I haven’t seen it written anywhere on this thread. So I’m not sure to what you are referring. If you mean St. Catherine’s, that’s where the mother went to school in Richmond as a child. Not the same.

Well, she spent almost 1/3 her life at St. Catherine's, so it formed her somehow. The 64,000 dollar question is whether or not Kristen Rossum (the Rose Petal Murderer) was in her class.

Eleanor was class of 96 I think? Go to on Classmates.com and see

The hypersexuality could be csa, could be bipolar, could be something like meth, or a combo.

The Rose Petal Murder woman was said to have begun using meth in 1992 while at St. Cs so it was around, same class. Correlates with hypersexuality and risk taking.

I don’t know this woman at all but I used to work in disability law and that is very common for people with schizophrenia or bipolar. They can present very well initially at a job interview but inevitably end up causing weird conflicts with coworkers or clients that usually leads to a termination pretty quickly, or they just quit because they feel aggrieved about something that typically would not have been a big deal with with someone who did not have a mental illness.

The extreme promiscuity in college also suggests former sexual abuse to me. Most college women aren’t running a trademarked BJ factory. I think this all looks very different from the G Maxwell situation which was the more traditional woman pimping girls for money/power scenario.

I’m not trying to excuse any of this—she should go to jail pretty much forever and ever have access to children again.

It does seem like bipolar is a possibility, I also think she may have experienced csa and have been recreating trauma. Even so, seems like there has to be something like meth as a factor too. The degree of risk taking to be planning this with a complete stranger on the internet or having sex in a public park as a mom and while married to a judge is so extreme. The paraphilias always cluster. She needs to be in a locked facility for a very long time, St. Es or prison. And her kids and all other kids need to be protected from her. If she experienced csa I hope others who may also be a risk to children, and those she had contacted as an adult predator, will be named. Thank goodness she was caught.

Why is some poster fixated with this being related to meth?!

I’m guessing her parents are sweating over how much she is going to say about her dances with daddy 35 years ago. They will probably work something out so she keeps quiet and is put in a mental facility for 20 years.

Old money, all-girls, Episcopalian school in Richmond. Brother school is St. Christophers.

Very insular community. Many families that attend these schools belong to the Country Club of Virginia (CCV).

And they all inbreed and the wives have hobby jobs if they work at all. Send their kids to the same schools, rinse, repeat.

Seriously. Not to mention, meth isn't the drug of choice for spoiled rich housewives.

A classmate of hers from St. C's who was also a psychopath started using in 92, see link below, later going on to murder her husband. So, it was around. The classmate also exhibited hypersexuality, risk taking and psychopathy. Will be locked up for life, like Hoppe should be.

Meth is associated with hypersexuality and extreme risk taking behaviors.

It does not excuse anything she did but she seems to have gone beyond bipolar or csa survivor. She was making plans on the internet with a stranger not a trusted network. I'm glad because now she was caught but that is beyond risk taking to another universe of recklessness. So was public sex in a park while a mom of young kids and while married to a judge.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kristin_Rossum see use of meth began in 1992 while at St. Cs so it was around when Hoppe was there

Would not be surprised if bipolar, meth and csa were all factors, as well as possible porn addiction that amplified her paraphilias. Whether in prison or a psych facility, she needs to be removed from society.

Did she go to St. Anne’s or St. Catherine’s?

For the last several years, they have been very vocal in assisting the exH gain custody of the kids and have tried to get her counseling and medical supervision.

After many, many years of hardship, Eleanor’s support group was limited in what they could do to stop her and incidents like the public sex affair proved that no one had the power to prohibit her actions. Unfortunately, I do not think anyone knew the extent of how far Eleanor gone or had any idea of CSA - thus the family was unable to garner additional support. Eleanor Hoppe is the epitome of how an adult with serious mental issues can inflict untold pain on our society and that her type of situation can only be properly dealt with after it is too late.

Nope. Not buying it.

After many, many years of hardship

I'm sorry, are we to cue the world's smallest violin for the wealthy family with who knows what skeletons and a freak monstrous relative rather than, you know, CHILDREN SHE HAS HARMED?

Having a mentally ill adult relative is indeed a difficult position, esp if trying to shield children, but tweak your approach.

If family were so concerned why didn't they try to put her under a guardianship? They were not lacking $ or access to legal talent.
