"An experience you'll never forget", "See it at least once in your lifetime" (or this is how the advertisement goes on Facebook)
I already saw it once and I am sure I won't ever forget the experience. My money went to support a cult spewing fundamentalist religious propaganda. Some of it probably went to Epoch Times as well. Still no transparency about their religious fundamentalism and political views. |
| Has anyone seen the latest Shen Yun performance in the DC area? Are they still singing about how evil the evolution and atheism are? |
| I was shocked to see ads recently where they were interviewing people who saw the show, and a child said "I learned more at this than I do at school in a week!" So sad this passes for 'cultural/historical education". |
Lots of people think atheism is evil. |
That's a surprising viewpoint- as even the bible references atheism very little. |

When I first started my current job a coworker tried to get me to buy tickets, saying some of her friends were performing in a local show. I was open to it bc I was new and wanted to be friendly. But I quickly figured out it was a Falun Dafa thing from the flyer she gave me. We had a lot of Falun Dafa people in the city I grew up in so I knew what it was.
Many of them got refugee status based on being Falun Dafa so they have lots of incentive to show how truly devout they are by evangelizing. I don't blame them, but I don't want any part of it. |
Anyone who isn't brainwashed and part of a cult? |
Gross. |
| They are back to the DC area. Buy your tickets now to support this cult and listen to some fundamentalist religious propaganda. It's going to be wild! |

I concede that I may not be the most observant person, but I saw the show a few years ago at the Kennedy Center, along with my kids (then ages 8 and 10). We were impressed by the athleticism of the dancers, and by the costumes.
Again, we may be slow on the uptake, but we did not take away any huge message from it. But the dancers were genuinely impressive. |
| Pass! I’m an atheist so I’m evil. |
I agree that the dancers were impressive. I wish the show was limited to dance and acrobatics. But they crossed the line several times raging against evolution and atheism. That's stupid and hateful at the same time. |
Are we supposed to accept this view just because lots of people think atheism is evil? |

You’re an atheist and can’t define evil, since you’re bound to a materialist, naturalist view of the universe. |
