NY mom murdered

Same with the people who stated as fact that the husband ordered a hit, even though that theory made no sense in light of the facts. I can't imagine the trauma the family is experiencing.

The killer seems both psychopathic (think how long it takes to stab someone 58 times) and dim-witted (the attempt at diversion with the text to the husband). May he rot in prison for the rest of his life!

True, but the culprit is of small stature like the younger son.

The younger son just hasn't hit his growth spurt. Good lord. He's 13.

It's fact, not speculation, and the only one to blame it on is the cheater. The police have no obligation to cover up for the cheater and I can't believe you would suggest they should.

On a separate note, I do not understand why he didn't just leave the body in the basement. Wheeling it away in the bag gave the police so much more evidence.

He does not seem very intelligent and didn't plan this, killed her in a fit of rage.

I think he thought he could dump it somewhere else or hide it, but he's such a tiny little man and he doesn't own a car and he got too tired carrying the body that he didn't get too far.

I don't think this was by any means 'compassion for her kid' as some suggest. The guy was a psychopath.

They always cite the cause of the crime and motive. Jilted, jealous lover, ex-affair partner, cheating are all the most common reasons for these violent crime of passion killings. Frankly, she put her entire family in such danger. This is what pisses me off about cheaters they bring potential psychos into the mix--angry betrayed spouses, psycho lovers they just met (and didn't know were psychos), etc. It's even more tragic when the ones that knew nothing about the cheating are killed--kids or spouse so they can get insurance or 'get them out of the way' w/out paying support/alimony. Somebody willing to cheat and play those games and lies is an unstable person.

If you look at his Facebook, the handyman was also an aspiring filmmaker and scriptwriter. So he probably had that starving artist thing going for him, he has that wild hair, etc.

I can see how she may have been intrigued by him. It does not appear that she worked outside the home.

He said he didn’t want the kid to find her.

Simply my take (from very afar), based on news/FB:

* Ms. Gaal truly loved her kids (relationship w/ her husband unclear)
* She was naturally beautiful (no matter her hair color/"work done")
* Like most of us, she was probably struggling w/ some form of mental illness
* She also really loved nature (most of her FB pics are of nature, a fact not mentioned in the nearly 30 pages of this post)
* She was very cultured, having traveled to many parts of the world and seems to have genuinely loved the people, foods, and the arts
* Like all of us, Ms. Gaal was a human being who make mistakes
* She and her family deserve respect

I live in a glass house, so no stones being thrown by me.

I’m sure he left plenty of evidence so that leaving or removing the body didn’t make much difference. A frenzied stabbing like that causes the perpetrator to cut themselves often numerous times as their hand slips on all the blood on the knife - he had hand injuries bad enough to need medical attention, which means his blood was mixed with hers in plenty of quantity to get DNA with today’s technology.

Everyone in Brooklyn/Queens and LA is "an aspiring filmmaker/scriptwriter."

He had nothing going for him. He definitely couldn't be actor at 5'2". Fantasy Island ended.

It was reported they found him walking around with bandaged hands.

She may have loved her kids, but she took risks and left the younger one at home past midnight out drinking to meet men she met online. She also just chose not to come home one night without telling anyone. She was reported to be a regular at the bar alone. The things she was doing put her family in danger. If her son came downstairs that night, he likely would have been killed too. Think about that.

That is not being a good mother. Most chronic cheaters like this, as demonstrated, will give the lover preference over the kids.

He said he didn’t want the kid to find her.

But had no qualms arguing, make noise and violently stabbing her 60 times while the kid was in the house.

I mean obviously she shouldn’t have gone out with him because he is a psycho killer but if you’re just looking for a nice affair partner a handyman seems kind of ideal. Different from your husband, flexible schedule, maybe plays in a band or something. Who knows?

I bet

*jerk off motion but it’s stabbing*

Oh no I’m so sorry that was terrible

Yes. What a thoughtful, kind man, he didn't want the kid to find her. Awww. He is so compassionate.

I'm sure some nut job woman will strike up a prison correspondence with him like the lunatics that court and are pen pals with Scott Petersen.

Except the killer is garbage and didn't care about her sons. Also, there's no evidence that they had a two-year affair. The guy only commented on her FB during a brief time in 2020, same as when she went missing that night. It's possible she broke it off with him and he stalked her.

Actually, the police said the affair last for approximately 2 years.
