FCPS Masking Update

Fairfax is substantial but dumbly the fairfax govt is still classifying it as high on their social media because they’re using all of NOVA and not just fairfax. Talk about being confusing when you don’t need to be.

It is still confusing. Some think FCPS can require them after mar 1 until their desired metrics are reached. Pretty sure that’s not the case.

That’s another thing too. When we hit either substantial or moderate over the fall for a few days, that’s when the county started counting all the other surrounding counties in its calculations of whether we were moderate or substantial or high or whatever. So they’re also fudging the numbers to make us look worse.

Lawsuits and VA AG will come after them if they tried.

Yeah that was a load of crap too. How about if the majority of the humans in the humans in the school building come from fairfax county - we use fairfax data.

This came up as a discussion in the staff lounge during lunch today. Nobody was quite sure what the plan is come March 1. We talked about the law, the superintendent's letter, "Moderate", and we just aren't clear.

My spouse is also a teacher and she said she asked her principal about March 1. He said he wasn't sure, but was hoping to get more information soon.

This is totally unacceptable. I’m a parent and my kids are going maskless on March 1.

Pp here. That’s what I understood will can and will happen and I’m ok with it, but there is definitely confusion.

Of course. We are all eager to be showered in your kids’ spit.

If only you were as worried about things that actually matter - like gun violence, poverty, poor instruction - as you are about a stupid piece of paper. So your kids will not wear masks, which won't benefit them in any possible way but will make you feel like you got one over on the libs, but meanwhile they'll still be cowering in dark classrooms during active shooter drills because actual safety isn't even on your radar. You're an idiot.

Why is it unacceptable? You’ve made up your mind and will do what you’re going to do. What exactly do you or the teacher or the principal need to know on February 23? Is there some preparation that you need to do? Is there some difficult information that you need time to process?

Principals have their briefings on Thursdays. Is it possible that they will get their information about this dynamic situation then? My guess is yes, and it will be okay. You can calm down with your faux outrage.

Hope you are ready to step up and teach if teachers quit.

I read it as FCOS doesn’t want to give in. Anyway, kids can go maskless. I hope teachers can soon too. Leadership is so poor it is embarrassing. Can’t even acknowledge the law.

We were confused too. Principal confirmed for me.
