I don’t think we are going to be allowed to unmask.

We will be having a staff meeting before Tuesday to update staff about masks and hear what came from this week’s principal meetings.

I didn’t watch, but apparently the school board promised families more details tomorrow. Any word?

CDC’s changes might impact teacher unmasking.

The school board also supported the lawsuit by parents of medically fragile students who rely on masking in schools. So they will probably force the teachers to keep masking.

If your child is medically fragile, is it safe to be in school no matter what? This confuses me.

If your child is so fragile that a mask-free classmate threatens them then they shouldn’t be in school.

And what do you suggest they do? They denied virtual school to many.

I’m not saying this meanly but homeschool if that they are at that at risk or can’t get home bound or virtual. Really they shouldn’t have been relying on other kids masking to date as it is if they are that at risk - for their own sake. My daughter just got covid and only did school and two masked activities that week.

That’s what fcps is about. Making huge decisions based on the lowest numbered group. They can’t do anything about kid masking for now but can force their hand on staff. And then this court case could favor these families and all kids who were maskless are now forced to Wear them again.

This
Is
Not
A
Cold
Or
The
Flu.

Have you heard of the irreversible vascular damage that many people with mild cases of COVId have experienced? Neither colds nor flu have anything like that. Neither colds nor flu killed more people than cat accidents last month. WTF is wrong with people?!?!?!?? It’s a mask. Kids don’t even notice well fitting masks anymore.

If your child is so fragile that a mask-free classmate threatens them then they shouldn’t be in school.

Fight for my kid’s education.

Kid has to be alive for me to do that so kid can’t be in school if a classmate’s breath is a death sentence.

But over two years ago a classmate’s breath was ok? How did you manage the threat of colds and flu?

Once more for the idiots in the back:
It’s
Not
A
Cold
Or
The
Flu.

I havent heard of this in children. What condition has your child more at risk for suffering long term vascular damage? I would imagine whatever condition it was, it also would have been bad for your child to get any upper respiratory illness. Including the flu. What did your child’s dr say? Why didn’t you apply for virtual school?

Wear an N95 and get vaccinated if you are concerned with Covid. Those of us that are not have moved on with normal life and FCPS will now allow our kids to as well. Come on and breath the fresh air, it’s great. Truly. People that need to be concerned were always going to have to take steps to protect themselves. Covid is not and was not going away.

#1 You mean the incredibly uncommon complications that are reserved for the same people who are at risk of death?
#2 Dying *with* covid is not the same as dying *from* covid
#3 You're deluded if you think preventing kids from seeing the faces of their friends and teachers is having zero impact on their development. It's hard to believe anyone could be so indoctrinated.
