- one political party is a welcoming home to all the hateful people out there who are celebrating this murder (and that party is not the republican party).

First of all, no Democrats I know are celebrating this murder.

Secondly, Kirk himself celebrated the kidnapping attempt on Nancy Pelosi, and the hammer attack on her husband. So, try not to pat yourself on the back too hard.

I don’t think liberal would find issues with him being liberal because the idea that liberals would kill someone who is MAGA is not part of mainstream liberal thinking. Most liberals I know were horrified by his murder because murder is wrong. If he is liberal, justice should be served for Kirk’s murder.

The shooter is currently 22. This friend is recounting anecdotes from his sophomore year of high school, which was presumably 7-8 years ago. This is not compelling evidence about his political beliefs today.

Ok, I call BS. What was the response of the right before anyone knew who the shooter was, including the president from the Oval Office?

I would also add, in relatively recent history, going back to JFK, the majority of political violence has been directed against the left (RFK, MLK, Malcom X, Gabby Giffords, etc) Yes, Reagan was shot by someone mentally ill, not political violence. Steve Scalise was shot by someone mentally ill.

The only posts of people "celebrating" Kirk's murder were a handful of totally random, and possibly fictional posts...no one of note in terms of elected democrats or hollywood types celebrated Kirk's assassination. So stop with the gaslighting and strawmen. It does nothing but add fuel to a fire that no one wants (at least no one on the left, clearly stephen miller and donald trump are girding for domestic war)
