Jen Hatmaker

My friends and I are similar ages to Jen and Brandon and the rest of them. We all went thru the phases of social media being THE thing posting how great life is and blah blah. Some people obviously more than others. But at this point NO ONE is posting how great our tickets/seats are, gushy love posts, etc etc. That’s all over or maybe we aged out. The very few who do are just like Jen and it’s over the top and so not the vibe. Like sad and shallow and eye roll worthy.

My friend group was really big on Jen back in the day too and she is nonexistent to everyone at this point.

Jen has a video trailer of her first All the Dish event. Besides the gushing comments of her fan girls, the rolling my eyes part was her and Tyler on stage for what looked like a Q & A session. The funniest part was the blurred out scan of the audience where there was no way to tell how many people were or weren’t there.

So many tickets left at the Austin show. You’d think she’d be a big nane in her home town

If you search for the #allthedish hashtag on IG, there are photos showing barely anyone in the audience. It's worse than I imagined. Wonder how Nashville will be tonight.

Or maybe they’re all on to her phoniness and constantly changing persona and don’t consider her any type of celebrity at all.

How much does it cost for a “basic” ticket to one of her cookbook events? Gah, just typing that out: “cookbook event”
is just a weird juxtaposition.

Rock concert? Yes! Comedy show like Steve Martin and Martin Short? Absolutely! Cookbook event? Sad trombone!

Who is her target audience and who uses cookbooks anymore?

The women talking about the event seemed to be about the stories, relating to the family stuff, etc. as opposed to the recipes. Which kind of confirms my take this wasn’t ever really meant to be a cookbook. It’s Jen trying to find a new way to make bank off her divorce and family by telling her new “story” by way of throwing in recipes that may or may not have been actually created by her. And the whole plan was to chronicle the story of how it came about thru the midst of her life changing divorce and heartbreak and always with the plan for a money making tour to sell it.

Yes, I’m old and cynical.

I saw on Instagram comments that there was a #metoo moment on her tour. Anyone know what that’s about?

Facebook comments from Saturday say the advertised DJ was absent, the meet and greet was rushed, and the “Q&A” involved no actual questions from the audience but rather just a list they came up with themselves…

How are you going to rush a meet and greet? There are like twelve people left who give a damn.

On Instagram stories, she is posting pictures from her meet and greet, pics of her with women who came to see her show, and captioning it 'I know you are wondering about my sweater. It's Able. I have it in 2 colors. Use my code.'
Wtf!! She is literally using pictures of her with her own fans to try to shill and sell!??
No. Nobody cares about your boring maroon turtleneck. Even Walmart has cute clothes, these days. Please don't turn photos with fans as an excuse to promote your stupid Able code.

This seriously makes me angry....

^This. Pretty much considering never ordering from Able for this reason.

+1 I can't order from them.

This thread is my favorite new hate read about a blogger influencer I have no access to otherwise!

ngl, in an IG photo from way back, that I may have searched high and low for longer than needed but never found, Jen was with her TX besties and one of the blondes had THE cutest patchwork duster on and it was from Walmart. I am shocked at how nice and flattering the Walmart clothes are nowadays.
Because back in the day, they were unflattering and not well-made.

I tried to watch a clip of her Nashville (my hometown) talk, but it was just not good at all.

Also, Jen-adjacent, did anyone listen to Glennon's recent podcast, where they rambled on about how a guest's husband mistreated their team member, and the guest was cancelled? It was 45 minutes of them patting themselves on the back and Abby sounding like a dumb jock.
