SS would have done anything to get them the $$ without them torturing his child, don't you think? And wouldn't the mere threat of torture/hurting the child be enough to make him go as fast as he could w/ getting the $$? And, really, they didn't need to involve the child at all in any of it. They could have tied him up somewhere away from the rest/out of the way and I think they still could have (if not for the pizza) gotten away with this crime and wouldn't have had to worry too much about the child being able to ID them...I doubt most kids would really be able to ID someone in a situation like this...just so unimaginably awful that they did any of this, but especially the parts involving the child

Speaks volumes about the perpetrator, doesn't it?

Their odds of ultimately getting caught increase if they don't burn the house at the end. So now you're adding the layer where they're going to escort the kid with them after the murders (again, without him identifying relevant facts about them) and drop him off somewhere, all the while not decreasing their chances of getting away from the crime scene without being identified? Come on, now.

Come on now? Really?? I'm saying that all the actions of this murderer speak volumes about him as a person. It's beyond heartless to plan this type of crime--knowing it's a family with children--and carrying it through. He wouldn't have had to consider what you wrote if he'd led a life of hard work and doing for others. Nope. He decided that burglary, torture, and murder were more his style.

Yes, come one, now.

Sure, the fact that someone is willing to plan a home invasion / murder speaks volumes about him as a person. The fact that such a person doesn't spare the life of a child in this scenario when doing so would greatly increase their odds of getting caught (for many reasons) is normal and inevitable.

Actually, no. You sound a bit cold. Even murderers often spare the lives of kids. This guy is a piece of work.

I don't know. One article I read he was only hired a few months ago. I can't remember where he worked before, but it was relevant.

I believe this is where he worked. It was somewhere that SS used to take Philip to ride a go kart.

Sorry I did not drop it, different jury. Will be hard to get the death penalty in DC even if legal. We had to sway many on that jury to convict....many did not want to because from the same type of neighborhood. When I was on the escalator in the DC courthouse a lawyer from Virginia said" How is it going? And I said "we are in DC, that is how it is going" he said, that's why I try to try my cases in Virginia! If convicted he would have been in jail for over 30 years. The Foreman had served on a grand jury case as Foreman, before. We selected him to be ours...because of his experience and he came from same neighborhood as Drug Dealer...still could not persuade her....the coat fear is real ,and the jury will have to have others of similar neighborhood or circumstance in life. I am the one who also says he will be murdered in prison. No question he will be. He will go to Maximum security...hurt a child...inmates don't like that. Nor do guards.

WAPO: "at times, he shook his shoulder-length dreads out of his eyes." This is clear, conclusive indication that driver of porsche at 1:30 on NY Ave was not DW. Am I right?

Interesting...I too found the changing of stories by the assistant odd. I have been an EA. There are huge discrepancies between the first and subsequent interviews.

Yes that's it. I believe the assistant left this place in March and soon started working for SS.

Yup. The descriptions were clearly very distinct.

As long as the witness was reliable. If he had his dreads tied back, it may have looked like short hair in the quick time someone saw him.

The brother has short hair. But, so does some of his friends. But, DW obviously does not.

By the way, the police must already know this from neighbors, but there was a lot of road work going on right on that area earlier in the week. The road guys were wearing green construction vests. So if the attackers were wearing the green vests, they would have blended right in -- assuming that they were not actually some of the road work guys.

That also could have been how they gained entry to the house - posing at the roadwork guys.
