Why? Would you say the same to her DH? |
+1 Or any other woman, for that matter. |
Who would compare a rock star and a former DC lawyer? |
Her hair looks fine and she’s not doing the insane MAGA fashion thing this thread was created to celebrate/mock. It’s fun to talk about how Ivanka wore a mink hat and a sundress to the situation room. It feels unfun and mean to say some woman’s hair is too messy, even if I really dislike her. She’s not even in elected or appointed office.
Oh well. Nothing gold can stay. |
+1 I can't compare myself to the celebrities who are my age. I'll never look like them without their resources. |
I think Usha's naturally greying hair is what is so triggering to some people. |
Usha could look great. I wonder why she is not embracing the help she could easily have.
I am kind of plain and don't really know how to do my hair and makeup but I would LOVE to have people to help. Couldn't she have a hair and makeup person and a stylist, especially the for public events? Why doesn't she? It would be so much easier. |
I agree and I think this is why Usha gets a rough time in this thread. She’s basically a DCUM, and a lot of other DCUMs would love a little more time and money and advice to look better. She has all of that but just looks blaaaaah anyway. |
She doesn’t really care about her appearance, though. Or doesn’t care sufficiently and that’s triggering to many around here. |
I’m kind of split. Like, I think it’s pointlessly mean to say her hair looks greasy and unwashed and to mock her melasma. But I do think it’s funny and okay to say the dark circles under her eyes match the color of her soul. |
I see young Hill staffers every day who look like they spend more on their appearance than Usha often looks for PUBLIC appearances. She has ONE job for her limited duties - look like she intends to be there and represent the VP well. |
It’s always interesting to me when I hear comments about how men are so hard on women’s looks. But in my experience, 9 times out of 10, it’s other women. |
+1 I personally wouldn't let my hair go gray, but good for her for being confident enough to do so. You're right, it certainly triggers some people. |
And so, you would have felt exactly the same way about Gwen Walz, right? |
Absolutely this. |
