1. Taylor’s probably older than most middle aged people think. 2. Being an attorney and mother of 3 ages you a lot more than being a rich, single, child-free woman. Part of Taylor’s job is looking glamorous. Usha is very new to having that expectation. |
I'm always intrigued by people who just... say things on the internet when they obviously don't know what they are talking about and in this case... just make things up? Queens (or royal women of the highest rank in their countries, aka Princess Charlene of Monaco) of Catholic countries have "privilege du blanc", the privilege of white, wherein they are permitted to wear white in the presence of the Pope while everyone else wears black. |
Not sure what this means. Taylor was born in 1989, Usha was born in 1986. Those are objective facts. One looks good, the other doesn’t. |
Holy $hit, is that real?! |
Most people have said her look at the military mom event was fine. What wasn’t fine was looking like an IT guy in drag at the Pope’s inaugural mass. Not a stitch of makeup with unwashed hair. |
The hyperbole is so over the top ^^. "Ungroomed / unkempt"?? Ridiculous. You may not like what she wears, but she always looks appropriate (except maybe the off the shoulder blue dress at the recent luncheon - that was weird). Her hair looks completely normal. I wouldn't choose to go gray, but she has and that's what undyed hair looks like. You calling her "ungroomed" just makes it clear you're not a serious person. And in no way does your 'denim shorts millennial' apply to her. How ridiculous. |
If you're actually going to idiotically pretend the Second Lady of the U.S. didn't wash her hair, prepare for some pushback. |
I completely agree. But because you said anything even remotely positive about her appearance, you'll be called a "friend of Usha" by the moronic mean girls who seem to think only they can state their opinions here. And if anyone has/had messy, "unkempt" hair, it was Jill Biden. Dear God. |
True, those are facts - but one is a glamorous superstar and the other is a woman who has never sought the spotlight and only recently found herself in it. And she looks like the normal woman she is. |
See, it's comments like this that just make it clear you're not to be taken seriously. |
I really like the dress and shoes she wore to National Peace Officers' Memorial Service earlier this month. Hair and makeup both look good.

And therein lies the problem, PP. Nobody expects a late 30s woman in the spotlight, a political spouse who was a high powered attorney no less, to look normal. Once you make it to the level of political spouse, you need to look put together and if you're in your 30s and 40s, especially, you need to look like the type of person that others should strive to be. You want to be aspirational. Usha looks normal, but as a millennial woman in the spotlight, she needs to look better than normal. That is just the world's expectations. Especially nowadays. |
I don't like her dress but agree that her hair and especially her makeup look really good in that second cover. She covered up her dark circles and it makes a huge difference. |
I'm sorry, but this is so silly. Did Karen Pence look "aspirational"? How about Jill Biden? Your use of the word "need" tells me that you are a follower of trends and expect everyone else to be too. Usha Vance doesn't "need" to look anything other than professional and appropriate, which she does. Her age has absolutely nothing to do with it and certainly doesn't mean she somehow has more obligation to look "better than normal" than any other VP's wife. |
She needs to wash that gray right out of her hair! |
