I’ve seen studies finding that a certain subset of women is the MOST invested in victim-blaming in sexual assault situations. Most meaning, more than all the subgroups of men in the study. It’s confusing until you realize that blaming the victims for their choices is a way to differentiate them from the woman making the judgment and therefore she can reassure herself that sexual assault will never happen to her. It’s a way to feel safe in an unsafe world.
