Prep classes for HGC and MS magnet tests

Has anyone taken the classes with Dr. Li? Did they make a difference/the difference?

how do you know it made a diff? It's not like the kid can re-take the test and the second results after the prep class were much higher? If your kid got in after taking the prep class, that doesn't automatically mean the class helped. I'm sure it didn't hurt, but can you really make a link?

Sorry, I cannot provide you with a prospective, randomized, double blind, placebo-controlled study for definitive evidence base...just anecdotal evidence.
I'll proceeded with anecdotal evidence. Glad I did so.

Can anyone shed light on what was helpful? They are pretty time consuming and expensive classes.

How many HGC kids have taken this class, I wonder?

IDK, but I'm Asian with a kid in HGC, and I've never heard of this. Does this class have a name, or is it just called Dr. Li's class?

IMHO if your kid needs this to get in, he or she might thrive more readily in a different program.

My kid is in a HGC and the only kids I know who have taken those classes are not there...though I certainly do not know all the kids.

My kid doesn't need this to get in but wants to take it for fun. Is that ok with you and your humble opinion? Can a kid take it (like anything in life) even if he or she doesn't really need it to get in?

I have a kid who does an expensive soccer camp in the summer but doesn't need this to make the varsity high school team. He simply wants to do so.
