Such a sad day for this country. Not one of the GOP has the backbone to do what is right. There's your partisan sham.

Wow, you really believe that don’t you? This impeachment is nothing but another effort in a long line of previous failed attempts to get rid of your lawfully elected president.

He wasn’t “lawfully elected” and he’s trying even less lawfully to get elected in 2020. Seriously, you’re just sadly wrong on this, embarrassingly wrong. Get a grip on reality.

The President who violated campaign finance law?

That was just ... unfamiliarity with the process. Cut him some slack.

That goes for everything, btw. Including this "Ukraine" stuff.

Actually it was Obama who claimed that his violation of campaign finance law was done by accident. He took foreign donations.

Paying off Stormy Daniels was just an accident too. Got it. Thanks for explaining that.

And?

And the history books will always read Donald J Trump, President*

*impeached

Actually, it will read ‘impeached by a one-sided vote’, along with paragraphs about FISA abuse, arrests, and spying.

Actually, it won’t. It will simply say impeached. And that will drive you and trump insane for the rest of time.

That is wishful thinking on the part of liberals like yourselves. Impeachment is meaningless unless it has real repercussions, and it doesn’t seem to, as his poll numbers are climbing. He’ll stay in office, and probably win re-election. You see liberals are very into how others see them. Conservatives are more into what they can accomplish. And Trump accomplished a lot: he’s flooded the courts with conservative judges, unified the Republican Party, brought the stock market to record highs, is getting the wall built, helped get Brexit voted in, and has put people back to work. You have a word in a history book.

If you've been looking at the Fox pool numbers, you may be reading them upside down.

Not looking at Fox. USA Today, actually

WH statement:

"Today marks the culmination in the House of one of the most shameful political episodes in the history of our Nation. Without receiving a single Republican vote, and without providing any proof of wrongdoing, Democrats pushed illegitimate articles of impeachment against the President through the House of Representatives. Democrats have chosen to proceed on this partisan basis in spite of the fact that the President did absolutely nothing wrong. Indeed, weeks of hearings have proved that he did nothing wrong," the White House said.

Well. That is a...repetitive official statement.

For someone who loves to tout her military experience, she is being quite the coward.

That was actually very brave.

How so? Take a principled stand one way or the other. She punted and it was cowardly.

Obama constantly voted present. Was he a coward as well?

To go against the grain on an impeachment vote, knowing the consequences, is very brave. Voting present is the same as voting no to the Pelosi and her gang of merry men.

Obama constantly voted present on impeachment? Huh. I wasn't aware.

This vote is for impeachment. It is a big deal. If voting present is the same as voting no, then why not just vote no? I'm not saying she should fall in line with the Democrats. But take a stand one way or the other on Trump's conduct. She wants to be president and doesn't even have the courage to make a decision on whether the current president's conduct was lawful??

So instead of admitting that Obama was a coward for voting present on a number of issues, you’d rather split hairs and say “well those votes aren’t as important”. Voting present allows her to not take part in what she considers to be a sham vote.

Why are you still talking about Obama? This isn't about Obama! We are talking about the vote that happened today, and about how Tulsi - a presidential candidate - voted today. Again, if Tulsi truly believes the impeachment proceedings are a sham, then she should just vote no. That is the point.

There's no reason to engage with posters who argue in bad faith. Let him talk to himself.

Opposite, totally cowardly to abstain on this vote.

She didn’t bow to Pelosi. She could not be controlled.

She just wanted people to talk about her.

This is great — Pelosi implying she will not send the articles over the Senate unless she sees contours of a fair trial.

This is the best option. It keeps Trump indefinitely in a panic, not acquitted, railing and angry but scared and not emboldened.

And we KNOW the Senate will not impeach this jackass.

At least the Dems are 99% on point together and will go down in history as doing the RIGHT THING.

That con man had his people drop off copies of his letter to Nancy Pelosi along with a Christmas card today to every member of Congress. He is out of his mind.

What a waste of taxpayer dollars.
