Real talk: are there going to be enough teachers for summer school?

Did you specifically apply to ESY or to teach the regular summer school at the Title I schools?

With all the Special education changes MCPS is making it's worrying because I have heard there are schools where the entire SPED department has resigned and not returning to MCPS.

How is that legal to get rid of counseling and 504 positions. These people support special education students!!!

Offers for summer school have been going out this week. Some people got offers yesterday and today. I'm guessing they will continue into next week.

But who knows if they will be staffed.

I work in a department of 13 Special Ed teachers and I think 6 of them are teaching ESY.

If MCPS offered premium summer pay for SPED teachers like they have done in the past, I might consider signing up. In the past they did an 18% premium for SPED teachers and paras. Many are burnt out during the regular school year and need the break from this year's chaos.
