As someone who has applied to teach summer school and knows others that have also applied, no one that I’ve spoken to has heard anything and it says they are still accepting applications. They were supposed to make hiring decisions by April 22nd. If they wait any longer to tell people if they’re hired or not, then they won’t have staff because everyone will find summer employment elsewhere.
Did you specifically apply to ESY or to teach the regular summer school at the Title I schools? With all the Special education changes MCPS is making it's worrying because I have heard there are schools where the entire SPED department has resigned and not returning to MCPS.
I applied to both.
