APS - School Shifts in the Fall?

Since you can't put pics here, I just need to figure out how to share widely anonymously. I also intend to wipe out the email address and name of the original FOIA requester.

No need. The twitter account is back online: @ap_eshit. Go see it yourself.

I'm all-in on the discussion. I do think though it's funny that no one has ever commented on the actual screenshots - the SB recall.

What is Turner's position on the SB recall? Let me guess - you'll skip right over that one again.

Miranda Turner has never supported any kind of recall, which you know because you would have posted the screen shots if she did. This is you trying to invent rumors to smear Ms. Turner as a candidate, which tells me all I need to know about your character and integrity.

It's a question - not "a rumor".

Multiple people in the group she "leads" support the SB recall. She responded to the question about supporting the lawsuit...it's reasonable for her to respond to the question about supporting the recall.

DP here, and I think that's a fair point. You can probably just send her an email and ask her yourself (not being snarky). But being on the steering committee of APE is not MT's sole identity, and frankly, I think it's kind of silly to paint either candidate with the brush of the craziest, fringiest members of any group they're affiliated with. APE is at least transparent (meaning you can join the FB group and see that there are indeed some pretty far-out-there people posting about stuff like doing away with masks, etc). But APE is more than just a FB group and some people who are involved aren't even on FB or active in the group on there. If we're thinking along those lines, then MK should be ready to answer for some of the stuff SR and AEM are doing and saying, some of which I think is just as out there albeit in a different direction.

Agree that they shouldn't be judged by random supporters, but there is a big difference in MT's role on APE vs. MK's role on SR and AEM. Is MK even a member of SR? (I'm not so I don't know)

I'm a member of Smart Restart. No, Mary Kadera is not a member. The Admins already said SR is not going to take a position on the race.

That weird twitter account is not associated with Smart Restart either. I had never heard of it until a few days ago when this all came up. Seems to be an APE narrative that it's associated with Smart Restart. It's anonymous and I don't know who it is, so how could they.

It's really odd how much APE likes to attack SR. But then they attack everyone else too.

Anonymous wrote:No there has been no mention of that for this fall. The title came from one proposal from MK a few weeks ago as part of a demonstration of her willingness to brainstorm creative ways to get everyone back 5 days per week if a more normal situation wasn't possible.

This 20pg thread started there, with whether this shows she is willing to think outside the box to solve hard problems, or whether it shows she has poor problem-solving skills and why can't we just open all schools five days per week tomorrow. The kicker is that this particular issue will not be facing either of these candidates, one of whom will take office in December. I'm far more concerned about how each will grapple with all the other major issues facing APS, and what qualifications and relevant experience they bring to the table.

I thought it was January?

PP here, and you're correct it's Jan 1st. I thought it was at the last meeting in December before winter break, so my mistake. Either way, schools will have been back in session five days per week since August.

It's called deflection. And APE is very good at it.

Why are you attacking APE? Did you read The above? They stated that MT already spelled out her position on the SB recall buried in a AEM thread. If you want to read it, it is there. Scroll up. But I'm sure it's easier for you to attack APE.

Wonder if they will still go through with it. Not such a great look for the Miranda campaign.

Stop being stupid. This is not a plan. This is a few angry parents talking in an online forum, it's not even a real effort. It's not fair to blame Miranda for that. But it is fair to note that APS has been so bad this year that this is the kind of thing people are musing about.

Great. I don't have to put in more work, because that Twitter account did it for me. Not a smart look to come back to harass more APE members.

Look at the followers list. Most, if not all SR members. 'Nuff said.

SR shouldn't take a position on any race. They've shown who they are. They follow troll Twitter accounts, Foias foias, and then use one of their representatives to post to other social media for the clicks and outrage. And then try to take the high road.

MK may or may not be affiliated with SR, but she's probably taking their money which is just as bad.

Agree, I'm not on twitter, so I can't see who follows and who the account is following. It's obviously an account made by BE, however, and I find it hysterical he turned it back on and is pretending it's not him because someone screen-shoted it.

I think so. His comments about the CCPTA really pissed me off! Like they could do that! It’s clear he never watched a SB meeting before or was active in the PTA or paid attention to any of it! He doesn’t know how the sausage is made, only cares that someone cooks and serves it to him on time. GMAFB! I’ve been at this sh** for a decade now, but then again, I’m a mom, so . . .

Does insulting and talking badly about people on an anon forum make you feel better? If you disagree with this dude then reply back and have a conversation. Everyone needs to grow up and stop gossiping and talking badly about your neighbors. If you have an issue with a policy or a platform or whatever it is discuss it, but just talking trash about each other on here does NO GOOD. There is a reason suicide rates have skyrocketed since social media and forums like this were created. Bullying and toxic negativity does absolutely nothing except depress people and make people feel alone. Can we all go back to the if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all mantra?

I can't call out the aggressive a-holes myself on AEM so, yes, it does feel good to do it here.

I don't see YOU calling out all of the mean dads on AEM for their poor behavior either. Why pick on people here?

And, for the record, it does do good - the Twitter account was locked.

1st I'm not on AEM and I'm not picking on anyone, just reminding everyone you have an impact. I don't know who this is or the background but I think its good to remember simple courtesy and respect go a long way.
2nd Blaming someone for your behavior is a classic move. "He made me do it" or he's an a-hole so I have a right to be one back.
3rd Based on your reaction maybe I hit a nerve.
4th Reasonable people can disagree - there is not one right way of doing or thinking anything, so if you cringe or recoil seeing something you disagree with maybe examine that for a min rather than digging into your side.

We are in the midst of a crisis where everyone is struggling from anxiety, isolation, depression and so on. Maybe instead of being part of the problem if we were all a bit nicer to each other that would go a long way of inspiring hope and kindness. It's a ripple effect.

Everyone has a right to not be bullied or harassed. And if you have been I'm sorry and wish I could give you a hug. If everyone on here could remember that you are talking to and about human beings and your neighbors that would be good to remember I think. We all act like there isn't an impact of our words. Like how we honk and yell in traffic but would never do that directly to a person in a grocery store line. I for one am going to try to remember to treat others as I'd like to be treated and will try to teach my kids to do the same.

So you have no idea who anyone is or what has been happening? Why do you think this "advice" would be helpful when you don't understand the context?

My hope is that these guys who are acting like aggressive DBs will step back and reflect on their behavior. And maybe acknowledge that they shouldn't attempt to bulldoze their way through everything. If I didn't fear retribution and impacts to my livelihood I would happily post this myself on AEM or contact them directly. But I'm not going to do that, so anonymous forum it is. Not everyone is a doormat.

PP here - I apologize if I overstepped. I'm just so tired of the vitriol and name calling of entire groups of people (want to open schools? Your an APE who is full of sh*t! Want to keep them closed you're some other negative curse word and on and on and on). Isn't this kind of toxic oversimplification and stereotyping what is tearing us apart as a country? I bet all of us know someone who wants open schools and some who aren't ready to go back and consider them friends. Anyway, sorry from a stranger on the internet who may be your neighbor. And I agree, if someone is bulldozing people I hope someone is standing up to them.

Also, on the off chance it isn’t him and instead is an APS employee like the account claims, APS has a record of everyone who accessed that email, and most likely could very easily identify who posted it against APS policy. Would be a shame for the person to get fired over a stupid Twitter account.
