Amen. |
Because it doesn't hurt you to get it and is tested against variants. And I'll get my young children as soon as they're eligible, whether or not I am concerned about their individual risk (yes they get a flu shot annually, and yes I know the flu is riskier than COVID in young kids), because I trust it will be safe if/when it's approved and will help avoid and protect against new mutations. Trust science. |
There’s actually tons of data that vaccine-induced immunity is more robust and likely more long lasting than naturally acquired immunity. But I’m not your research assistant so I’m not going to dig up links. |
“Over” is a bit dramatic. |
So many of us were delusionally pessimistic last year, it wasn't just OP. But seriously, OP, you need to come back and tell us if your DD has seen her grandparents yet. Also, has she traveled anywhere, has she hugged a friend yet? We deserve an update since so many of us participated in what became a 25 page thread. |
Nice try. https://apps.who.int/iris/rest/bitstreams/1346855/retrieve “To conclude, available tests and current knowledge do not tell us about the duration of immunity and protection against reinfection, but recent evidence suggests that natural infection may provide similar protection against symptomatic disease as vaccination, at least for the available follow up period.33 The emergence of variants of concern poses challenges and their potential to evade immunity elicited by either natural infection or by vaccination, needs to be closely monitored.” https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.04.20.21255670v1 “ Vaccination was highly effective with overall estimated efficacy for documented infection of 92·8% (CI:[92·6, 93·0]); hospitalization 94·2% (CI:[93·6, 94·7]); severe illness 94·4% (CI:[93·6, 95·0]); and death 93·7% (CI:[92·5, 94·7]). Similarly, the overall estimated level of protection from prior SARS-CoV-2 infection for documented infection is 94·8% (CI:[94·4, 95·1]); hospitalization 94·1% (CI:[91·9, 95·7]); and severe illness 96·4% (CI:[92·5, 98·3]). Our results question the need to vaccinate previously-infected individuals.” |
| Why on earth would you want to contract covid versus getting the shot?? They still don’t know enough about long term issues and effects of having even mild cases of covid. Dear god. |
PP here. I am fully vaccinated. My point is that people who have had Sars Cov 2 have comparable immunity and should not be excluded through the usenof vaccine passports / signage that allows only vaccinated to unmask. |
But we want our new normal 😢😡😷😭
|
You sure? I guess we'll wait and see what new restrictions Biden announces tomorrow, huh? |
Boom! I love when I am right. |
Hilarious that these people though the vaccine would be the end of restrictions.
|
Stay in your basement while we live our lives. |
Which restrictions? |
What lives? Schools are still closed, shops are going out of business, and there are more masks than there were a year ago. |
