[Bethesda cyclist] Do you know this man?

There's no way this guy hasn't been ID'd by now. Someone is protecting him and they should know better at this point because it won't end well for to protectors either.

It does look fishy.

Diplomatic security or official maybe? That accent is strong.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear a message that says 'Deputy Chief Of Staff Mark Stewart has accepted a new position at the Sydney head office effective immediately. The Embassy of Australia sends warmest regards to the American people' come Monday.

I mean its not like he killed someone ala Anne Sacoolas but it'd be a pretty embarrassing incident for the embassy. They wouldn't keep him here.

Good grief! Angry white racists truly are a plague in this country. I do believe they are a minority, but man, are they loud and toxic! It's a good thing that so many of these incidents are getting recorded and exposed. No more hiding that rotten element.

I agree as well. I'm not American and when I was growing up this kind of behavior from men was not at all uncommon. Especially towards girls.

I think this guy has to be outed in the next 24 hours because it's not going to go away. He needs to turn himself in. I bet he will but he's probably lining up his attorney and crisis PR team...

Turning himself in would acknowledge that it was him. If the police contact him and say they have an arrest warrant, then he could discuss terms if they would let him. To just come in on his own would be a terribly bad idea from a litigation risk standpoint.

Not really. The problem is that there are several white males that fit the profile and the photo. The police have been investigating and have ruled out several suspects. You can see details of some of the individuals who were interviewed and cleared.

They have another strong suspect currently being investigated.

The problem is that even when there is a good suspect, the police still have to investigate the person and make sure they have a case against the person.

Glasses and helmet make it hard to identify. He can just ditch the equipment (and bike) to be safe and you have no case. If he was carrying a tracker watch or cell, ditch those too. Then lawyer up and don’t say a word. They’d have no case against him.

Those teal/blue taped handle bars are pretty distinctive. I'm sure some of the bike enthusiasts could also identify his bike. He was wearing bike shoes, had other bike gear on, someone should be able to ID this guy.

They have a suspect. Sit tight...it will be revealed.

+1

Bullies like that have their lawyer and PR team on speed dial - even if it is for a response to DCUM post they didn't like.

DP. They need to make sure they have the right person. They need to try to gather other evidence about what happened before the video and also what happened at the end of the video and after.

If they can’t get other evidence tying the suspect to the bike (Strava, other pics of him with the bike, etc), it won’t be as much of a slam dunk case as you think.

In fact, the Twitter vigilantes who identified other bikers who looked like the perpetrator have handed the real person an opportunity to create reasonable doubt.
