Why do you think the positivity rate is going down across the state? JFC |
DP. I’m wondering this too. Weren’t they still short on something- swabs? I can’t remember. Overall I think Hogan has done a decent job but as things started to get a bit harder and nuanced, he’s not willing to make those decisions and abdicating to local leaders that have varying degrees of expertise and resources. Although the he-said/he-said back and forth makes it know how exactly this went down. |
The positivity rate is going down because we are using those tests. Why do you think we aren’t using them? |
I think Elrich l’s goals are different from Hogan though. Country-wide there is no consistent policy. |
Then why do counties keep complaining that the state is being stingy with tests? MD is still pretty high for positivity, but yes at least we aren’t #3 anymore. |
What makes you think we are using them? |
What other tests would we be using?! Coronavirus.maryland.gov now shows a graph with 7-day rolling averages for test positivity and test volume. Statewide, we are at 12% positivity, which is a HUGE improvement. For today, we had an 8% positivity rate. The CDC recommends 10% in an environment of increased testing as a benchmark for significant loosening of restrictions, so we are VERY close to that. |
That's circular logic. |
I'm with you on that! But I am really interested to learn why people think we are not using them. |
Didn’t he just have one yesterday? Reversing himself already? Dude just gives off the impression that he doesn’t really know what he’s doing. |

PG County is opening up effective 1 June. Curbside pickup at retail shops, restaurants opening, hair salons, etc.
Yet MoCo remains closed. Elrich is going to have a lot of questions to answer this afternoon. |
No it’s not. These are the tests we have. Therefore, since we are doing tests, we have to be using those tests. Unless you’re aware of some other supply of tests we are using? |
He's a hot mess. Got destroyed yesterday with questions so probably won't take them today. With good numbers and Hogan basically calling him out by name, he's got to reverse course now. |
Not PP, but what tests were being used in the state of MD before the additional 500k was procured? I also read some counties were buying their own tests. |
What tests are they using in DC, and where did they get them from? |
