Which actions of Elrich remind you of Trump? Golfing? Getting the police to investigate his political opponents? Shaking down other elected officials? Inciting bigotry and violence? Praising Nazis? Advising people to take dangerous medications? Getting his lawyer to pay off porn actors? Stiffing small businesspeople who did work for him? Naming his children and children-in-law to high-level positions in the county? Operating Montgomery County like a banana republic? Do tell.

Don’t waste your breath. This is just the same old bothsidesist lying from conservatives. Feel bad for them— they have to lie. Their whole party is built on lying. Everyone hates their ideas when the “ideas” are presented plainly. That’s why they have to lie about them.

Elrich is an idiot who is in too deep. He can’t handle it and doesn’t know how to get out of it now.

Elrich press conference tomorrow at 2:30pm to announce plans to reopen MoCo.

It’s happening Kentlands in Gaithersburg, if anyone wants to stop by! I might go, since it’s my neighborhood.

I’m calling it now- phase 1, and it will be abbreviated and we’ll go into phase 2.

I think so too. There’s a big problem with giving others access to camps and not MoCo parents, especially if folks start being required to go back to work. We’re starting to get to some really critical things opening up.

Sometimes I wonder if he is trying to let Elrich embarrass himself . . . . or he doesn't want to pull the trigger on the risk.

The interesting thing is Hogan quoted "Bethesda Row" opening up the streets for restaurants for outdoor seating. He quoted the positivity rates in moco on testing. (which was just published today - you could calculate the state rates for weeks). Hogan left it very murky. . . . .

He made it quite clear he thinks MoCo should open.

He's the governor. He can do it. Telling the counties that they're allowed to decide for themselves, and then criticizing their decisions, is grandstanding. Back to business as usual for Hogan, I guess.

That's absurd. You can believe that decisions are typically best left to local governments while simultaneously disagreeing with the particular decisions they make.

What’s amazing is how quickly the DCUM general discourse shifted from quarantine warriors to reopen fanatics.

I know it’s probably different people posting, but not long ago the forum was full of people screaming at their neighbors to stay in their homes and now it’s full of people screaming at the county executive saying they want to get a haircut.

Undoubtedly different people, but every person I’ve shown the data to has pretty much realized it’s time for Maryland to reopen in some capacity.

Oh, the places you'll go.

Elrich must resign. MoCo Council must resign. They are an embarrassment.

Wrong. He's the only one who's actually trying to handle it.

GOP policy is ignoring it.

Explain to me how Hogan’s team is screwing this up.

What happened to those 500,000 tests?

The point of the lockdown was to prevent hospitals from going overcapacity. It worked. We can reopen. If hospitals hit 95% then we can do another lockdown but there is no need to lockdown forever while hospitals are fine.
