VA: First COVID-19 Case Confirmed

Anonymous
The Maryland suburbs of DC have about the same numbers as the Virginia suburbs, but Virginia also has a cluster of a dozen or so down in Williamsburg/James City County/York County and several cases in Virginia Beach. Maryland hasn’t detected any clusters in Baltimore or elsewhere outside Montgomery & PG counties. They are probably there but not tested because they are not linked to one of the notorious cruise ships.

Still great to have all possible cases go there instead of the ER or urgent care facilities...

It’s only for Arlington residents. Bummer.

Is the Fairfax County Health Dept going dark as to any info at all regarding the most recent cases?
It stills says "All confirmed cases are associated with travel or contact with a known case." But no location where they live or where it was picked up. That's not how they started. Initially, there was more info. I guess they don't want people to get paranoid that it's their neighbor, mailman, etc.

USGS (Reston) just announced that there are two people who work there or visited the building that tested positive. They haven't said which depts or who they are, so can't know if you had contact with the two positive cases.

Chalk up another 2 cases for Fairfax County.

They haven't provided additional details since the ones announced on 3/14. And it's BS. Between the debacle of the press conference last week and their lack of transparency during this, I've never been more eager for a local election and voting these people out.

The Virginia Department of Health website update is wrong. Alexandria has 5 cases according the City of Alexandria, but it still says 2. I wonder how many other jurisdictions are incorrect.

Where are guys reading if VA cases were community transmission? I can’t seem to find this info.

Everything is slow to update. There are almost 3000 cases in NYC alone and the national total does not reflect that

I'm only seeing this for Fairfax - again, not sure how accurate it is.

They aren't listing it anymore on the VDOH website, but I have been reading it from various newspaper reports. I follow WAVY (Virginia Beach tv channel), Richmond.com (Times Dispatch), WaPo, the Patch for various NOVA neighborhoods.

The two deaths, both in James City County, were from community transmission. I read that on Richmond.com

DP. "As of Wednesday morning, 2,382 people had tested positive in New York State, an increase of more than 800 since Tuesday. In New York City, 1,339 people have tested positive, up from 814 yesterday."

So PP is off a little.
