Good that they went out there to win and won big. That is their job.
But their level of celebration was embarrassing.
Did they really not expect to beat them?
My daughter plays DA (CA) and it is as if her U18/19 team played some U9 travel team and made a fuss after the 9th, 10th, etc. goals. WTF?
I guess a goal is a goal but when you are so far more dominant than your opponent maybe getting a goal is not all that impressive and you just need to chill.

The World Cup is not even in the same stratosphere as your DD's games.

I am a guy, but these girls are getting raw deal from the USSF and have a legitimate gripe. They made more money for the USSF than the men did, but are paid significantly less. And, unlike the USMNT, they made the WC and are getting criticized for scoring too much and celebrating too much. I will take it over getting beat by mediocre teams, like Jamaica, Venezuela and Trinidad.

While I disagree with the original poster, what makes you believe these girls made more money for the USSF than men?

Unfortunately, the US treats soccer like the NFL or NBA IMO. The Men's games, for whatever reason, fills up stadiums. The women simply don't. I wish they would.

Butts in seats = $$$$. The exact reason MLB, NFL, NBA players make a crap ton of money. Owners and the league can afford it.

Until teams other than Portland put more than 2-3k in the stands for a major game, won't happen. It is unfortunate. But it has nothing to do with the players being women and everything to do with economics.

The OP in this ridiculous. The women's players are not inferior athletes. They are some of the best female athletes in the world. If you are serious, get help. If not, stop trolling the feminists.

PP was referring to WNT making more for USSF than MNT (which is accurate), not NWSL making more than MLS. MLS has greater revenue but it is my understanding that that is offset by greater costs. For example DCU plays at Audi field while WS plays at the soccerplex. Ranting Soccer Dad writes a lot on this issue so maybe he can summarize, but I think the bottom line is that direct comparisons are difficult due to different payment schemes. However, there were a number of clear discrepancies ( some of which have been corrected).

Can you provide any proof for this statement? Because I have never seen anything that suggests that statement is true - every figure I have seen shows that USMNT games get higher ratings, better TV deals, better jersey sales, better attendance, etc. So

$26.8 million, including $3.2 million in World Cup revenue. The men brought in revenues totaling $21 million. But that’s a difference of about $5.8 million, nowhere close to the $20 million cited in the graphic.

The amount more is exaggerated but that the women's team brought in more revenue is not in dispute, the only thing in dispute is how much the women's team has out earned the USMNT.

All that is is just a twitter conversation .... with a US player who isn't even playing in the 2019 world cup....

Nice try!

Why don't you go back to whining about the mom of karen on facebook who tweets about her daughter too much?

You've lost the argument

But thanks for making my point

Seems quite strange to be not "even playing in the 2019 world cup" and yet score a goal in the very game that is the subject of this conversation (yes, I realize Carli isn't a starter for this team, but the comment is still asinine).

The amount more is exaggerated but that the women's team brought in more revenue is not in dispute, the only thing in dispute is how much the women's team has out earned the USMNT.

"The lawsuit cites a very specific example in showing the profitability of the women's team. It states that in 2016, U.S. Soccer had initially budgeted a loss of $430,000 for the two senior national team programs but later revised that to a $17.7 million profit due to the USWNT's 2015 World Cup win and a surge in the team's popularity.

What the lawsuit doesn't get into is the fact that the trend of the women bringing in more revenue than the men continued after the 2015 World Cup. The financials from U.S. Soccer's own annual reports show more revenue from the USWNT than the USMNT in 2017 and 2018 as well."

Now I know why so people on here think they matter. It all makes sense now.

Signs and symptoms of narcissistic personality disorder and the severity of symptoms vary. People with the disorder can:

Have an exaggerated sense of self-importance
Have a sense of entitlement and require constant, excessive admiration
Expect to be recognized as superior even without achievements that warrant it
Exaggerate achievements and talents
Be preoccupied with fantasies about success, power, brilliance, beauty or the perfect mate
Believe they are superior and can only associate with equally special people
Monopolize conversations and belittle or look down on people they perceive as inferior
Expect special favors and unquestioning compliance with their expectations
Take advantage of others to get what they want
Have an inability or unwillingness to recognize the needs and feelings of others
Be envious of others and believe others envy them
Behave in an arrogant or haughty manner, coming across as conceited, boastful and pretentious
Insist on having the best of everything — for instance, the best car or office

Of all the silly threads in the soccer forum, this may be the stupidest. 27 pages of crazy and counting.
Well done!

The posters.

Specifically, " Have an exaggerated sense of self-importance."

You know that feeling when you get a brain freeze? It's kinda like that.

Poster on DCUM: Be humble. Love everyone. Have class

Poster at home: I hate that b@tch! Dont hang out with her Lauren. Shes weird

Poster on facebok: Lauren graduated 1st grade with a 4.0. #mykidsbetterthanyours
