| This team has brought politics into where it doesn’t belong. Makes it a little hard to be happy they won. |

Lol. My 3 yo agrees. She’s younger so obviously the expert here. I guess you think any of this matters? |
I will consider your pov when FIFA pays winning women the same as the loser men. |
When a 12 year old can see that her play has declined we all can. Lets stop acting like she was dominant in this World Cup. She is an aging veteran on a stacked team and this was her swan song, but it was her swan song. Loyd had a big finals against Japan too and well, she is now a sub. |
Agreed. And as a PP I’ll post my bit again... I’m so proud of the women. Say what you will about individual players, this is another incredible accomplishment. There are many polarizing athletes but as a woman and former player I hope we can rcelebrate the better aspects of what this means for girls moving forward. |
Of course her play has declined. I doubt anyone would disagree with you if they said Press needs to be the starter next time. Heath’s time might be up too. But in the present, 6 goals and 3 assists speak for themselves. |
Yes, it is so hard to support equal rights. Yuk. /s/ |
| I thought Dunn was phenomenal the entire tournament. She faced a number of top attacking players and shut them down and was also excellent going forward. Rose Lavalle was excellent in the knock out stages. With all the attention on Morgan and Rapinoe, they were the unsung heroes. Ertz and Mewis has a very good tournament too. |
| I meant to say Rose Lavelle. |

Not trying to stir the pot but when you looked at the full stadium you have to wonder if the WC can be financially as successful w/o the US.
|
Her play has declined since her peak =/= she doesn’t belong on the team. |
It means nothing moving forward. US Soccer still needs to be sued for equal pay. People are more than happy with the way they played so zero evolution of the game form a player selection or development standpoint. No new king on the hill to knock off making things interesting. It might as well be another Patriots Super Bowl win for as interesting as it is and its ability to truly advance the interest in the women's game internationally. |
Just as NWSL sees an attendance bump in the World Cup after the Women's team wins so would European nations. If you want the game to advance on the women's side an all European Finals would have done that. Yes, the stadium would have been full if the US was not in the finals. What an arrogant assumption. |
Rapinoe and Morgan were not being doubled. Morgan was seeing lots of elbows and was rendered pretty ineffective. Take away the game against Thailand and she was a bust. Rapinoe, bless her heart, worked hard but she is done. No team was afraid of her. Lavelle and Dunn played great. |
