Ok, we got a third in a row now. Can we now start to focus on a more sophisticated style of play going forward? |
Dude. Based upon what you said, then China & India will dominate in sports with their 1.4 billion people than. |
2 in a row, but agree with you about the style of play |
She can not take player on 1v1, she turns the ball over when pressured(over 8 turn overs in this game in the final 1/3), she has no pace, she is lazy(does not track back or win the ball), she is out of position, her first touch is bad, the other field players must adjust to cover for her because she is out of position, only one defender is sent when she has the ball, her passes are off in terms of weight, touch and timing, etc. etc. She should not be on the field. Oh but she scored 6 goals( 3 penalty kicks, one lucky free kick). She should not be on the field. |
Listen there are some posters on this board who know a lot about soccer. They know more than the coach and any of us other people who are just watching. Part of what they know is that corner kicks and free kicks don't matter or at least shouldn't matter. You just need to listen to them. There are other threads on this board you can read through to learn more from their observations. |
I have no trouble believing that some people on this board know soccer better than other people on this board. But if you’re going to claim to know more than a professional coach, you should probably provide some credentials to substantiate that. |
| Meh. The team wins when Rapinoe is on the field. It's pretty hard to argue with her record. You sound like the England fans who are still insisting that England is the better team. Or like the Croatia men's fans who said the same thing about Croatia. I mean, sure, say what you want but at the end of the day, it's win versus loss. |
Yes, these armchair coaches sound pretty silly. |
And she scored 6 goals and 3 assists, set up 3 scoring chances in the final, vindicating the coach’s choice that she should be on the field. Your stupidity and bias don’t hold up against her contributions towards winning this World Cup. She was clutch, sorry. Cry about it, go yell it out in public through a megaphone. But she’s a back to back world champion. |
New Zealand has the world's most successful rugby team, maybe even the world's most successful "any sport" team. The population of NZ is around 5 million. |
LOL. My 12 year old DD and friends said pretty much the same as the pp. They were very disappointed to see her bad play receive awards. I guess you think the place kicker on the Patriots is the reason they win super bowl? |
| No, I just think that pros are more knowledgeable than your 12 year DD and friends. |
I feel like the lesson here to your DD has been lost. |
Yes, that PP is laughable. |
The thing is you guys think every thing you see is so insightful and no one else gets it. Yes we can see when she loses a ball in midfield. And yes at 34, after 3 ACL tears, and with maybe a hamstring issue, the work rate and pace is not what it was. The coach wanted her out there for what she brings in the big moments and she was right. She won the Golden Ball - guess it wasn't based on the every touch video. I know you have learned a lot from watching your little girl play travel soccer - maybe you don't know everything just yet. |
