Yes. Upthread, the moderator basically accused "certain posters on this thread" of supporting a hypothetical claim that George Soros controls the weather. So what he's doing is twisting around to give every benefit of the doubt to White, castigating any Jew who won't do the same, and then turning around and accusing them of the very thing - blaming someone else doe the weather - that White ACTUALLY did! It would be funny if it weren't so sad. |
Stating facts is apparently considered "raking over the coals". I simply don't think that White has met the bar to be called an anti-Semite. Apparently, most of the DC Council agrees. |
Name calling , the hallmark of people with subzero IQs, have at it . |
That was hyperbole. But, there are posters in this thread who stated that George Soros grew up in an anti-Semitic family, implying that Soros is himself anti-Semitic. Despite your claim to be deeply concerned about anti-Semitism, you have no interest in the constant anti-Semitism directed toward Soros and didn't blink an eye at the accusation that a Jew grew up in an anti-Semitic home (with his Jewish parents). You have repeated my hyperbolic claim several times as if I had meant it seriously, but couldn't once comment on the suggestion that George Soros is an anti-Semite. If you are worried about double standards, look in the mirror. |
It was explained to you that while it is rare, it is not unheard of for Jews to be low-level anti-Semitic themselves. Soros himself admits that he came from an anti-Semitic home, and the other PP provided you with a quote. So why would I blink an eye? He himself admitted it. As to whether Soros himself is actually anti-Semitic, I couldn't say, as I am not particularly acquainted with his work. My guess would be he is not, but it's an interesting question. A research project for tomorrow. |
When someone has the gall to accuse a Jew of praying for anti-Semitism, "idiot" is being kind. |
I traced back the quote. The original quote said that Soros "wryly" said that he came from an anti-Semitic home. In other words, he was joking. Just like I was joking about Soros controlling the weather. It is really telling how you immediately accepted that George Soros authentically claimed to have been raised in an anti-Semitic home. You don't agree with Soros politically, so it is essentially open season on him. |
DP somehow you've found a way to afford Soros the benefit of the doubt regarding his alleged antisemtism but that opportunity can't be extended to Mr White , who based on information we have about him so far let's us know he didn't grow up in a self described anti semtitic home . Nice move bro , nice move . |
The interpretation was that it was said 'wryly' - the interviewing author interpreted it as being said wryly. The quote I gave you was simply what Soros said, from his own mouth. |
For what it's worth your bitterness and name calling is entertaining . You did indeed pray that Mr White reveals himself to be the anti Semite that you're so moronically want him to be . This level of desperation is sad and embarrassingly pathetic . Grow a pair . |
You didn't provide a source for your "quote". But if it came from the same interviewer who said that it was said "wryly", then you left out important context. Again, it is very telling that you so readily accept that Soros would seriously say such a thing. The man and his family escaped the Nazis. They witnessed first hand the horrors of anti-Semitism. Do you think that he would seriously call his own parents anti-Semites? It is so interesting how you so willingly passed on such a thing. No hesitation in throwing another Jew under the bus while claiming to be furious about anti-Semitism. |

Soros quotes from an interview:
“I don’t deny the Jews their right to a national existence–but I don’t want to be part of it.” “My mother was quite anti-Semitic, and ashamed of being Jewish. Given the culture in which one lived, being Jewish was a clear-cut stigma, disadvantage, a handicap-and, therefore, there was always the desire to transcend it, to escape it.” He confirmed what someone had told me-that his family name had long ago been changed from Schwartz. “So the assimilationist Jews of Hungary had a deep sense of inferiority and it took me a long time to work through that,” he said, adding, however, that he succeeded in doing so many years ago… “I am escaping the particular. I think I am doing exactly that by espousing this universal concept”-of open society. “In other words, I don’t think that you can ever overcome anti-Semitism if you behave as a tribe… the only way you can overcome it is if you give up the tribalness.” For a lot of Jews, this IS anti-Semitic behavior - disassociating yourself from Jewishness so anti-Semitism can't exist. |
I did, actually. You simply didn't care to see it. |
Wow. You're getting worse and worse. I just said I didn't know much about Soros and couldn't say one way or another. I even said I'd research it because it would be interesting. And yet, you someone interpreted that as my declaring "open season" on him? But talk about "open season" on those you disagree with politically? Really? You demonstrate that every day. Surely you realize that. That's why you accuse me of nefarious motivations and reveal such anger. All because I'm not a liberal. Sorry. |
Praying that an Antisemite reveals himself and praying for Antisemtism are two different things. A "secret" antisemite can do a lot of damage. Grow a brain. |
