US women's gymnastics...

I can only wonder how many other predators are out there grooming the children. And assaulting them.

Teach children to speak up when anyone seems creepy.
Don't make them wait until it's too late.

So many young girls are taught to be nice and not cause problems. They would probably be yelled at by their crazy Olympic focused Parents.

Ok, coach. Keep deluding yourself.
The predators are the problem here.
Do you know any? Ahem.

I'm hearing that most coaches are the real tyrants on a power trip.

My run down on local Maryland gyms after running three kids through the sport, two girls and one boy:

Marvateens: Money and volume. Lots of kids to make tons of money. Holds kids back so the team does well so he can say that they won states. Only thing is, the kids are much older and bigger than the other teams . Your child will not progress very fast, but sadly, they will put in tons of time. No nationally ranked kids, no college scholarships. He will put you off the team in a second if the kid or parent talks back, petty. Can't spot talent.
Dobre: He is a crook and just can't seem to be honest and sincere. Schemer. Some girls don't feel comfortable around him, but he is not dumb enough to be a creep. She knows the sport, but they don't produce a stars. They want tiny young girls. Small space. Get a receipt. Can spot talent, but turns kids off.
Hills: Good equipment with good coaches. However, it is a game. They do not want parents around at all, not even watching. They seem to think that you should just trust them. Funny, with all their know how, they aren't that good at spotting a potential star. Kids leave there and flourish elsewhere. Kelli is a perpetual teen (or even tween). They do produce champions and lots of college scholarships.
Preston: Boys' team. They have fun. He is nice, connects well with the kids, but it is a place to just learn basics. Adults train there, but they are away from the kids. Can spot talent, but will only tell you if you ask.
EGS Frederick: Very nice people (strangely related to Dobre's people, but nice). Good equipment. They know the sport well enough. Best kept secret if you are close enough. Can spot talent.
Dynamite: This is also a big money mill, worse than Marvateens. All they want is tons of kids and adults running through there. They have a lot of adults training there sort of unsupervised. You never know who is traipsing through the gym. They can't keep coaches or athletes. Waste of money and time. Can't spot talent.
Freestate: Nothing special. Not a great team.
Silver Stars: Nothing great. You won't learn. Not a bad place to start.
YMCA: Meh, even worse than Freestate. Horrible equipment.

Camps:
IGC: Very nice. top rate. They pay attention to detail.
Woodward: Crazy pot heads, poorly organized, adults mixed with kids. Good equipment and good coaches.

Rhythmic:
Capital Rhythmics: Nice folks, very kind, had an Olympian. They know their stuff.
Elegance: Ohhh, some mean mean people. Very hard on the girls. That place is best for Russian girls whose parents understand that culture.

My kids now, not in gymnastics, but one dives.

Long time national team coach - was at the national team camp every month, BFF of Marta Karoli, was one of the five people tasked with choosing the last Olympic team....

Yeah I’ve been wondering if some of the other top gymnasts haven’t come forward because they don’t want to for whatever reason or if they actually weren’t abused. I’m not sure if anyone from Chow’s gym or WOGA has come forward? Abusers sometimes prey on the most vulnerable, and you could see him targeting gymnasts like Mattie Larson, McKayla Maroney, and Jordyn Weiber for instance in part because they had really mean coaches (and part of his schtick was playing the “good” guy). But then I always got the impression that Simone Biles had a really stable coaching situation and family, so who knows.

This is purely speculation, but I wonder if he got “bolder” over time. As in, starting off with lower profile gymnasts and then progressively targeting more of the National team members. The majority of the gymnasts from the 2012 and 2016 games have now come forward, the only Olympian prior to that was Jamie Dantzscher (I think). Of course, just because someone hasn’t come forward doesn’t necessarily mean they werent victims, but some like Shawn and Nastia have said that they weren’t.

Did her father not let her be treated by Nasser?

I expect all of those people to be targets of the investigation involving the cover-up of the serial rapist there.

I don’t know about you, but money wouldn’t make this right for me

Shouldn't the enablers be put under oath?
Who knew what when?

Nassar probably knew better than to abuse Nastia, given who her father was. Now, Shawn, Alicia, etc., who knows.

Law enforcement really showed their ass on this one as well. It was reported multiple time and various police departments and the FBI dragged their feet and made enexcusable errors.
