It does not matter what Hogan does. US is a country in decline and it is now being decimated by the moron in the WH as well as the various natural disasters brought about by climate change.
It is interesting that US has been the biggest produced of pollution and green gas emissions in the world. Karma! US is no longer able to protect its territories and its people. The rich now go to play play golf at mar-e-gommorah! |
In MCPS you may call it "political posturing..." those of us in PG, where the calendar is developed at the last minute in secret, with few opportunities for community input, by a bunch of elected idiots who have no background in education, and where they tell us if a change in the last day of school in MAY... We would just call it "good customer service." Good lord I have never seen more whiney entitled rich people than in this thread. |
What r u talking about? I thought all the evil rich were at BCC, Whitman, churchill and Wooten? |
Generally I expect policy related to education to be good for education. |
I think you missed the point. If it does no harm to education, but benefits the state in other ways, isn't that a win? |
But it does do harm to education. |
Liberal Elites are not evil rich. The evil rich are those that are bilking the poor. Liberal Elites are hated by Trumpians only because they are educated enough to want to preserve the environment, preserve societal and world peace and have educated people in the society. If people are educated they will have the intellect to find Fox News infantile and they will not want to get their news from tweets. That will be the end of the Dotard's base. |
Prove it. Same number of days in school = same outcome. |
Longer time out of school = worse outcome. There's even a name for the phenomenon. The Hogan/Franchot plan had nothing to do with education, which is curious for a decision about education. |
Can you please show me that an extra week, or even two, of summer vacation causes a substantially greater loss? So far, no one has. |
Actually, the teacher him- or herself is one of the most influential aspects of a child's education. Teacher experience is key, and retention is a big part of that. 50% of teachers leave the profession during their first 5 years! One of the major reasons that teachers leave their profession is a lack of professional development. Many districts don't invest in teacher development, falsely thinking that a teacher just does the same thing year after year, limiting any advancement and growth for teachers to just administration. MoCo seems to be going back down that path now. |
Are we now back to blaming everything on the deplorables? It's funny how the "highly educated" liberal elites still don't understand the real reason why Trump won and Hillary lost. Keep blaming the deplorables and see how far that gets ya. |
| .... or the Russians, or James Comey, or Bernie Sanders, or... or... or... |
| Now this is a political thread too? |
Well on that point we agree. It was never about education, and neither is MCPS's little hissy fit. |
