And why? |
Sure. Anyway. Drivers, we are not all like this. I apologize on their behalf. |
Everyone knows why but you, man.
|
Biking commuters contribute to traffic congestion due to their slow speed. |
Then explain, please. If it's so obvious and well-known, it should be easy to explain. |
He can't help himself. One can only imagine how much his charming personality has helped in his personal life. Man, just imagine having to deal with that one on one IRL... |
I can tell some of these people are lawyers lol It's like arguing with a hall monitor Look yes you have a right to drive on Wis avenue in rush hour Should you no, should steps be taken to make it easier to do it no, should steps be taken instead to make it more hospitable to drivers who are the vast vast majority of users of this route yes |
Sorry, don't feel like it. *shrug* |
It's not a matter of importance, it's a matter of moving traffic efficiently. And bikes gum up the works during rush hour if they take a whole car lane going 30 mph. |
If these are lawyers I feel bad for their clients, lol. They're God-awful at arguing and would turn any jury against them. |
|
This thread has quite nicely proved OP's point. It started with people being against her and now the pendulum has swung in the complete opposite direction. Probably do to the petulance and rudeness of the biker posters here.
Well done, guys! |
And driving commuters contribute to traffic congestion due to the space they occupy on the road. (So do bus commuters, although per person they occupy less space.) Plus, whose traffic congestion? Bicyclists do not get in the way of other bicyclists -- at least not on River Road. Bicyclists get in the way of drivers. Just as drivers get in the way of bicyclists, but nobody is complaining that drivers are inconsiderate for driving during rush hour. |
How about this: no one person is more important than everyone else on the road. When one commuter slows down the other hundred, that one's an asshole, whether it's a biker, jogger or pogo stick rider. |
It's quite efficient to bike. What you mean is, it's a matter of moving cars fast. Now, why is it a matter of moving cars fast? Commutes aren't about getting cars to work. They're about getting people to work, whichever mode of transportation they use. (Also, they're not "car lanes". They're travel lanes.) |
SEALION!! |
