Would you be okay with your daughter dating a boy from a different race?

My biological extended family is white. After marriage and children, there are 3 AA and 4 mixed-race family members. They are also Republicans - not the DC kind, but the Glenn Beck ultra conservative kind. I am far more perturbed by the party affiliation than race, because despite the Republican thing, they are all kind, smart, generous, and wonderful partners or children.

I would be more concerned about her dating someone from an entirely different social class, someone shiftless whom she will have to support, someone abusive and/or struggling with drug dependency. If she has a doctorate and wants to marry a bartender with a GED, I would be disappointed to say the least. I think people from similar socioeconomic backgrounds have the happiest relationships.

I don't care one bit about what race my DDs boyfriends are. But I'll instantly disown any of my DDs who brings home a boy with an ear gauge.

Not trying to control it. Just will teach him our history and the importance of successful black men marrying a black woman.

Why is it okay for you to say that, but if some white parent on here said it was important for a successful white man to marry a white women, they would be a racist jerk?

It depends on the reason. Do you think blacks are inferior and that's why there's an objection? If not, then, it's not racist.
