From scientific American. An article about The science behind what might be going on with all the algae in the reflecting pool. The algae needs light nutrients and carbon dioxide.
The lining and the paint are not really a major factor here according to this scientist. The same thing happened before the paint was there. But painting it also was going to do absolutely nothing to fix the algae problem. The solution to the algae problem is discussed in this article. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/a-water-treatment-expert-on-what-could-actually-fix-the-reflecting-pool/ |
He’s trying to create a “prove me wrong” situation. The press may have to FOIA the actual police reports, if they even exist. |

The gash created by the vandals just got 50 feet longer. Soon, they will be longer than his neckties. |
So were/are people splashing around in there literally tearing this thing up even with guards there? |
|
The history books will get it right…
The US fell after 250 years because Trump and his henchman convinced a bunch of people to be more outraged about Americans taking floating pool chunks than American traitors beating police with flagpoles. |
Pieces are just coming loose and floating to the surface, and people are being arrested for merely touching it. We've now arrested more people for picking up detached pieces of failed pool liner than we have for the Epstein Files. Hundreds of underage women trafficked, abused for sex, and disappeared and yet Trump cares more about this stupid reflecting pool than he does about those poor girls. It's damning. |
Supposedly making a.gash over the size of a football field and somehow nobody noticed nor was it caught on video. Sure. Totally plausible. |
Yes, if you could reach in and grab a chunk, the liner had already floated off the bottom. This is what Trump Derangement Syndrome really is. People ignoring basic reality out of their inability to admit their cult leader failed. |
Nobody's vandalizing it. You shouldn't be able to just reach in and pull up pool liner, if properly applied and cured. The liner failed. OBVIOUSLY. Anyone still saying "vandalized" at this point is an ignorant moron. And that does indeed apply to the President as well. |
Everyone across the country, and world for that matter, is supposed to believe his fake news that there were vandals running into the well guarded pool ripping up the liner? This should be true in our brains because Trump insists it’s the true story? Where are the witnesses? Is he going to pay people to point fingers? |
| I can't imagine what it's like going through life with so little critical thinking ability that you buy into the vandalism story. It seems like it should hurt your brain, or give you heartburn, or SOMEthing, when you disregard the reality of paint floating to the surface of an algae-infested pool and instead mimic the clearly misleading cries of "vandalism!" Not to mention overlooking the no-bid contract that caused all of this. |
I mean, the national mall has video cameras every 20 feet that cover every square inch...if there was video of people gashing the liner with a knife, it would be readily available. |
| They have to lie “vandalism” because they’re in a no-win situation. You can’t just drain the pool and “repair” it. They’d have to strip and start over, which would be a massive, time-consuming effort. Floating chunks of Trump’s failed pool job are now a new feature for quite a while. |
| I love how the right is crying vandalism while being completely tone deaf to the vandalism that took place at the US Capitol that Trump pardoned. |
No, the thing is, they don't have to lie. Trump doesn't have to lie. He could do the right thing and just say they ran into issues that require additional remediation. They don't need to have people arrested for touching paint litter to manufacture a vandalism story. What a disgusting, corrupt, dishonorable president. |
