Congratulations!.if you don’t mind how was the individual scores? |
278, 275, 275, 277 |
So salty. My kid from a “low competitive” school thumped yours out of the water. They don’t have average grades. Just because you live in a townhouse in Brambleton doesn’t make your kid smarter. This is a public, tax funded school. Students from all across the county should have an equal chance to compete with their peers in Middle school. Again - since this is the same parent with bad grammar - none of what you said is true. If you want to tell yourself this to feel better, so ahead. |
What? |
Not sure, what was salty in the original post. It looked like someone coming forward with their opinion to help others. Low of you to comment on person's language skills. |
can you please share which MS is this ? |

The OP just shared the opinion. With no substance you chose to attack the language! BTW -- the school quota is absolutely A THING. If you attend the AOL sessions they tell you that in there as well. Even in a public, tax funded school system there are some schools who do better than others - a lot of factors make this happen - demographics, teachers, students etc etc. and that changes over time as well. If this was truly based on JUST scores then those 'top schools in any given year' will take most of the spots, further perpetuating the cycle of them being on top! So the school quota helps level it out to an extend and so it should along with a lot of other factors that are not all revealed to us! This is a stressful process and getting accepted OR waitlisted OR rejected is just a reflection on how any kid did on that particular test/criteria combined with how everyone else did on the same test/criteria. No need to take that as a reflection on their lives and experiences! We all live in the LCPS system - which means no student is going to a badly run or underfunded High school no matter where they are in the county. If the kid wanted to get into AOL and didnt get in - there is no reason to blame anything or any process. Just means you have to take a different path to maximize your potential and opportunity. |

It’s very true. And also Test preparation in the right path also matters to get accepted. So we can’t judge any kid based on this test result. |

We’re talking about advanced placement schools and grammar doesn’t matter? Birds of a feather… |

What is AoS/AET? |
same parent posted three times in response. the copium is strong with Stone Hill and Brambleton parents |
These schools and maybe a few more have had some kids lose spots just because they are at Stone Hill or Brambleton. For TJ admissions, Carson students are only restricted in that other schools have a minimum quota. BUt some of the Carson or Longfellow students would get an open allocation pool spot if they were at a different school, while in Loudoun there is a maximum quota per school for AOS and AET. |
