Congratulations! Get ready for the rigor! |
My son had a 280 on his stem critical thinking test and got waitlisted to both aos and aet. Considering as it is already july and the waitlist ends soon, what are the chances my son gets into at least 1? He attended Mercer middle school, took alg 2 trig and has all A’s. Does anyone also know what the maximum quota is for each school? |
According to one poster, there is no maximum quota. I can't see any evidence of one online. You can contact academy admissions and ask. |
What do the math and science teachers think of your kid? |
His Math teacher thinks very highly of him, however he's in the middle when it comes to being his science teachers favorite. |
Alright, thanks for the insight, I'm planning on contacting the academies to double-check. |
Has anyone gotten off the waitlist this month or is it closed until 3 weeks before school? |
Why will it be closed until 3 weeks before school ? |
I don't know the full details, however there have been rumors from previous years about the waitlist being closed during the summer season, until three weeks prior to the next school year. |
This may be just a rumor. Waitlist movement is open all summer long till the school first day or till 2 days after school starts. This year - it has been tough for any movement in AET( not AOS) as it was first preference for majority kids u like past few years. AOS waitlist movement is still active and so is TJ. |
My son just received an offer from AOS today, the waitlist is open all summer. |
Did you hear anything from AOL? |
They said, "AOL is a very competitve process. Each middle school is allotted a certain number of seats for AET and AOS based on the size of the middle school and the total number of applicants from a school. The Admissions Office does not release the information you are seeking. The LCPS school board does release cohort data later in the fall at a school board meeting. That data is posted in Board Docs for public access." My son recieved an offer from AOS the day after the AOL admissions officer responded. |
