My Hyundai needs a new tire, should I take it to Costco auto or MCPD?

Or you can call AAA, which is what Kristin Mink did before she notified police her car was obstructing traffic.

That doesn’t appear to be the timeline, even according to Mink’s own words:
https://wjla.com/amp/news/local/montgomery-county-councilmember-councilwoman-kristin-mink-police-third-district-3d-commander-flat-tire-phone-call-assistance-favor-union-fop-fraternal-order-officer

It is the timeline according to her. Somebody is lying. If you think the FOP doesn't lie, then you are a very gullible person.

She’s allowed to make mistakes. We all are. She admitted it wasn’t the best choice to call the commander, and she reported it to the ethics committee. Look, I’m not a fan of Mink. She gets some respect for admitting it wasn’t a great choice. Perhaps her supporters can also accept that she made a mistake that night.

My bigger issue is her repeated vitriol toward police and the fact she is on the public safety committee.

I am one of her supporters on this thread and have said repeatedly that she made a mistake just as she said herself in the above statement. Get over yourself.

Btw I am grateful there is a police critic on the PS committee, they definitely need one.

I don’t feel the need to get over myself. What I wrote is remarkably fair. You may have said she has made a mistake, but others have dug in their heels.

That's not something to brag about

There’s already a Police Accountability Board and a Reimagining Public Safety Task Force, both of which are deeply critical of the department. There have also been some very loud Council voices over the past couple years.

It’s harder to find supportive voices than critical ones.

Where is the bragging? I’m simply not going to back down after saying something reasonable.

Btw multiple posters who have been noting that the police did not in fact change Mink's tire nor is it apparent that she asked them too, have also noted that calling the 3D commander looks terrible. If you are under the impression you are somehow unique in being "fair" you are a seriously deluded person.

The number of lies on this thread from the pro police contingent is telling and also embarrassing. FOP folk, stop posting here. You're not being effective, you're just reminding people that you're a bunch of liars.

Not FOP at all. I also haven’t lied once.

To which lie are you referring? That she called the commander? That’s not a lie, and she has admitted it wasn’t a good call. That should have ended this.

Elrich created the task force to reimagine public safety in 2020. Completely anti police.
Riemer and Jawando sponsored the Policing Advisory Commission bill in 2019. THey filled it with anti police members in 2020 as well.
Jawando and Rice created a SWAG group to rewrite the School Resource Officer MOU. in 2021. Also anti-police. And student-led.
Elrich created the RSW group to rewrite the SRO MOU as well. In 2021. Yes, we had two groups doing the same thing. Also anti-police.

All that anti police rhetoric and resulting policy/laws are what's gotten us into the mess we are in now.

Multiple posters have said she called the police to have them change her tire, which is false. Then there are the numerous ones who claim she asked them to take off their cams based on an allegation from a Twitter troll. The dishonesty is blatant.

I have seen zero posters on this thread saying it was appropriate to call the 3D commander and multiple saying it wasn't (as I emphasized in another post above) even if they generally sympathize with Mink or think the FOP is being dishones. You know this yet you continue to create this straw man of people who think this was appropriate. You are not honest.

As I figured, this was going to blow over for her. We’re still talking about it, but this will be forgotten. She’s moved on to proud boys kicking her. Did you take her kids with her to this protest?

Not that poster but the FOP does not really represent all sworn officers. They may all pay dues, but that doesn't mean they even like the FOP.

Thanks for sharing this. I reference the FOP because they are the ones who went to the media about this faux "scandal"
