So if you are fearful of getting the virus and you believe the study, then wear a mask.

Since masks reduce the spread significantly, and there is a real chance that there will be dire consequences for getting covid, maybe everyone should wear masks. It is a public health issue and if you don't like masks feel free, to sign your kids up for the VA.

No need for VA or masks. Wear one if you want, though.

Anti-masker families need to be separated from the rest of us and should be required to attend VA.

You may be surprised that the majority of people (likely the vast majority) are no longer wearing masks. This would plainly obvious to you if you'd bothered to step outside of the DC area at all over teh past 6 months. So, if you separated people like this, you'd find yourself in pretty rarefied company. Perhaps you could form your own compound in the woods of northern Idaho and hang out with your other fundie friends.

You don't even need to leave MoCo. The vast majority of people aren't masking indoors in MoCo at this point.

They are in Germantown.

Well I know that certainly isn’t true. Barely anyone is masking in Gaithersburg and Germantown.

Downcounty in some areas are about 1/2 masking, sometimes more.

Yup, same here. Most people are done with the masks except for some who may have been exposed and are being cautious or have other reasons to be cautious (a person with a condition or who lives with someone with a condition). My husband has covid right now. I mask when I go to the store even though I've been testing negative every day. I don't typically wear masks and plan stop masking again in a few days. You will probably always see some people masking now...it is just becoming a way of life. That doesn't mean everyone should do it. Do what you want...that's what choice is about.

I'm the one that posted the pulmonary fibrosis articles at 08/21/2022 22:36.

I have no issues with someone choosing to not wear a mask themselves, if (a) they are informed of the information in my post, and (b) are over the age of 18.

However, I find it morally bankrupt to make a decision or have a "choice" to unmask for a minor

Did you know that seatbelts were only made mandatory in the U.S. since 1984? Prior to that, it was a choice. I see this as a very similar issue, for now. Don't get me wrong - someday the masks may not be required. I just don't think it's today.

Keep your children safe. Take care.

??? Masks already aren’t required, and that’s certainly not going to change. What made you think they were?

The wall on which the prophets wrote
Is cracking at the seams
Upon the instruments of death
The sunlight brightly gleams
When every man is torn apart
With nightmares and with dreams
Will no one lay the laurel wreath
The silence drowns the screams
Confusion will be my epitaph
As I crawl, a cracked and broken path
If we make it, we can all sit back and laugh
But I fear tomorrow I'll be crying
Yes, I fear tomorrow I'll be crying
Between the iron gates of fate
The seeds of time were sown
And watered by the deeds of those
Who know and who are known
Well, knowledge is a deadly friend
When no one sets the rules
The fate of all mankind I fear
Is in the hands of fools

There is no equivalency between seatbelts and masks. Seatbelts have very little downside. Masks definitely do. My kid has had COVID twice and is vaccinated and wore her mask when it was required. No more. We’re done.

The anxiety in this county is insane.

You are blessed to not have family members with health issues. Getting Covid twice is a lot. Covid is a big deal to some. Both set belts and masks are basic precautions.

Really? I thought it was an apt analogy. Both save lives and both have a downside. Seems good to me.
