Whittle

Maret has fallen of our list. It’s just a mind boggling decision. No thanks.
Maret has fallen out of most peoples list with the Whittle-Maret pipeline that has been skillfully crafted by the new administration.

Current Maret family- we don’t blame you. Am flabbergasted. Everyone knows Bisgaard was current HoS’s last choice- what an FU to her that he got selected
Why was he selected then?
Exactly. Follow the money and the favors trail

There is two schools in particular not big3 but definitely in this independent school pipeline has accepted many teachers and students. One old HOS is going to one of the schools. Maybe change the focus and leave maret out of it.

What schools are you referring to that are partaking in this pipeline, PP?

Ask the LSHOS she’s going to one of them.

No one has applied or been admitted to maret. Stop with this new maret obsession it’s another school in dc.

Seriously I don’t know of any student or teacher going to Maret after the school closure. I don’t understand this obsession. Is Maret really that prestigious within DC? I know Sidwell, St. Albans, GDS, and National Cathedral are, but is Maret at this level?

Are many of the people here actually Maret parents? Or are y’all upset that your child did not get into Maret and need a scapegoat to place the blame on? There are so many private schools in DC, so why would the former Whittle families only choose Maret to apply to?

Maret is a really difficult admit. My kid was waitlisted for 9th and admitted to Potomac, Sidwell, STA and GDS.

Was Maret your first choice? I am much more familiar with the other schools you mention. At least your kid had a great school to choose from out of the admitted list. Private school admissions could be very unpredictable.

Yes the people who keep starting to bash maret and bisgaard are not even whittle families and fail to remember that no one had applied this year and if they did they are not going/did not get in.

It’s only difficult becoase it’s so small. Used to be trendy, but GDS has taken that slot now.

And FWIW, I know of a former whittle MS who will be attending Maret this fall. Happy for them…seems like a good fit.

And so it ends. Very sorry for everyone it was taken advantage of, everyone who put their trust in this institution, for the teachers and the kids.

GDS is certainly the most sought-after top private. However, comparing it to Whittle is like comparing Kobe beef from Wagshals to 10/$1 Ramen from Giant.

'People cited' on this board, meaning one person made up a story to whip up imaginations. There were no 'transfers' and won't be any this summer.

How would you know? It’s different PPs and a lot of specificity and it isn’t just this board. Plus who cares? There’s enough damage already done by these people and it’s time to pay the piper
