Whoopi says the Holocaust was not about race

I don't care at all what she thinks. What I do find concerning is that this debacle has revealed how ignorant people are about the Holocaust and who Jews are.

If Jews can't come to an agreement on who is Jewish (as evidence by this long discussion thread), it should come to no surprise that non-Jews don't know "who Jews are."

I, as a fully Ashkenazic Jewish person, think that it's fine for people to get mad at Whoopi Goldberg, if they want, but absurd for her to be punished or widely canceled because her understanding of this is a shade different from the way some Jewish people understand this.

The kinds of fake controversies are part of a scheme by bad guys who want to herd nice people into self-censoring circles, so they can justify limiting our freedom of speech in other contexts. It has nothing whatsoever to do with fighting racism or antisemitism.

It was ALL about race in my opinion.

The Nazis thought of Jews as the inferior race. 👎🏽

Hmmm…Sharon Osborne did not say anything racist but had to leave The Talk. Why isn’t Whoopi being forced out?

Caryn Elaine Johnson‘s “understanding” is far from a “shade” (what a Freudian coincidence!) from others, and perfectly illustrates the malignantly narcissistic obsession with personal race and self-assigned victimhood for profit that has destroyed efforts to fulfill Dr. King’s dream.

Last time I checked the verbiage “Master Race” was uttered quite a bit by Nazis. It had everything to do with Race, classical definition or not.

Also “white” doesn’t mean Caucasian. “White” means folks of European lineage that are Christian (or Atheist or Mormon) and light skinned and are descendants of colonizing slave owners. “Black” means descendants of colonized central and south Africans with dark skin that were enslaved. A descendant of a non-enslaved African that came over to the US recently are not considered “black” by most AAs here in the states. Yes so as you can see NONE of this has to do with scientific definitions of race but all of it has to do with groups of people self-identifying themselves as being superior, inferior, or different than others in some way.

Also, Whoopi is a comedian and an actress. While she is entitled to an opinion it is largely irrelevant and likely not well formulated.
