Stop embarrassing yourself |
Makes absolutely no sense. People 'can' and do play up today if they're good enough. We don't have teams with single irrelevant graduating year The same exceptional few will play up a year in SY if good enough. Still no same grad year for entire team. In which Disney Fantasy are clubs just playing everybody up who asks? 😂 |
| Grad years are still going to be a mix just as they are now. Many people hold their kids back so grad years won't line up for those held back a year who have bdays before August 1. And our club at least is not making the top teams change to SY so lots of those kids will be "playing up". |
All top teams and club roster players this fall when we switch to SY will have the same graduating year. Except for the oldest group but thats because leagues merge two age groups together because players already recruited stop playing so others can get recruited and team sizes shrink. |
Any club playing kids up for these stupid reasons will get killed by the clubs playing kids in the age groups where they belong No matter how long your parents hold you back, your DOB is your DOB and leagues go by your DOB |
Then they can do study hall together What that has to do with soccer levels and skills and talent and potential? |
What you're describing is different. A player that was held back in school will be forced to play up in club because of their birth cert age but will have a different graduating year. College coaches will need to wait until their Junior year to communicate with them.or make an offer. |
A LIE made up by you College recruiting has been fine in BY with players playing up because the players playing up and the scouts both know their graduating year. |
So what if the college coaches have to follow recruiting contact rules? It's the same rules for kids held back or not. |
Kids that are held back in school have to play on a grade older team in club. College coaches only care about players grade in school. In club you cant choose to play down however you can choose to play up. For hold backs they'll be out of alignment for recruiting. 90% of recruiting occurs Sophomore year with club players. But they'll have already played their Sophomore year in club and will be on a Junior year club team. This just makes things more difficult for recruiting because you're an odd duck and not normal. |
College coaches care about your skills, talent, character, potential, graduating year. If you're on their radar and being actively recruited, that means all the other DCUM soap opera stuff means diddly squat They also care about difficult problem parents |
Club and leagues go by age and year/month Stop being a moron repeating this "grade" nonsense |
Have you ever even attended a showcase or event like finals? The top teams and the top level groups are the ones college coaches watch. They are also the ones that occur in the middle of the day on the best fields. The top college coaches generally setup base camp between the best fields at the best times of day and rarely wander fron there. The crappy clubs and teams and age groups play on some land of misfit toys field either at 6am or 9pm when nobody is watching or cares. This is why its important to play on a high level correct grade in school team. |
Exactly, college coaches are up late getting free drinks so that nixes the atrending 9pm showcase games. Then the next morning they're hung over so that trumps atrending 6am games which are usually u13/u14 which they can see next year. |
Ok, so lets tie this back to, “ Trapped/Re-aging Families, How are you having the conversation?” |
